2007-2008 Fixtures Announced

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced Australia's 2007-2008 international schedule which will take place this coming summer. The schedule differs significantly from previous seasons with some big changes included.

It was rumoured that CA would abandon the annual tri-series because of the mass difference in the schedule but they decided against it and the tri-series tournament remains in place.

The season includes two Twenty20 internationals (to be played in Perth and Melbourne) as well as the usual Chappell-Hadlee series against New Zealand and test series against Sri Lanka and India. Following all of this is the tri-series with the Sri-Lankan test series being held in November.

Adelaide gets an Australia Day test with the test series against India being pushed right back. The first test of that series will be the Boxing Day test.

The tri-series takes on the same format as last season but has a few differences. Perth will only recieve the one match instead of the usual two as CA have decided to play a game in Canberra (most likely Manuka Oval). The MCG will not get a tri-series final this coming summer.

It is a bigger season than normal. More cricket for a longer period of time.
