2nd ODI: India vs Sri Lanka at Rajkot
The first game was washed out so we really can't gauge on how these sides are truly going. Jayasuriya was at his brilliant best as usual in the first game but the rest remain unknown as to how good or bad they are playing.
India still have their injury problems. Irfan Pathan and Yuvraj Singh are still not fit to play despite taking part in the team training session, neither player bowled a ball during the training run. Ajit Agarkar is on medication to right himself from the flu which he is still suffering from. Sri Lanka are most likely to go in with an unchanged team after batting reasonably well for the short period of time in game one.
What makes this game more interesting is the fact that both sides will name their 15-man World Cup squads at the end of the game. Big question marks hang over who will be taken to the Caribbean with players from both sides not getting much of an opportunity to impress selectors. This second match gives them an ideal opportunity to express their case for a ticket to the Caribbean.
Should be a good game this one. The chance to go one-up on the opponent is there but the players will also have that World Cup carrot dangled in front of them once again.
India XI (likely): 1 Robin Uthappa, 2 Sourav Ganguly, 3 Virender Sehwag, 4 Sachin Tendulkar, 5 Rahul Dravid*, 6 Dinesh Karthik, 7 Mahendra Singh Dhoni+, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 S Sreesanth, 10 Zaheer Khan, 11 Munaf Patel.
Sri Lanka XV: 1 Mahela Jayawardene*, 2 Sanath Jayasuriya, 3 Upul Tharanga, 4 Kumar Sangakkara+, 5 Marvan Atapattu, 6 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 7 Chamara Silva, 8 Russel Arnold, 9 Upul Chandana, 10 Farveez Maharoof, 11 Lasith Malinga, 12 Dilhara Fernando, 13 Malinga Bandara, 14 Nuwan Zoysa, 15 Nuwan Kulasekera.
