So close, but yet so far for Brad Hodge, finishing on 97*, now he has a 99 and 97 against the Black Caps, but still no century.

Good batting display though Australia making 336/4.

Hussey making 105, Haddin 49 then White with 42 off only 19 balls at the end.

It'll be interesting to see how well Australia bowl, we finally have some sort of penetration with our bowling with Taity playing. We have doorknob bowlers with McGrath, Bracken and Watson. Then Hogg to help with spin, Taity will be the difference here though. His pace will be HUGE for Australia.

I don't know, i hope i am wrong, but i still see the Black Caps winning this, simply because our bowlers aren't quite up to scratch.

Pidge got Fleming out.

Tait is bowling.

I am sure that Pidge will come and bowl from the other end.

Tait keeps on bowling wides. Grrr

Re: 2nd ODI: New Zealand vs Australia at Eden Park, Auckland

target is too high, methinks

Re: 2nd ODI: New Zealand vs Australia at Eden Park, Auckland

It's not too high because NZ are looking like they are going to win the match.

Crap throwing down of the wickets.

McCullem hits a 6

Looks like NZ have this game wrapped up with 1 run to win.

Re: 2nd ODI: New Zealand vs Australia at Eden Park, Auckland

i wrote the first post at the end of the australian innings, and i said in it that New Zealand would win.

Our bowlers aren't up to scratch, simple as that. McGrath is too old, he doesn't go for heaps of runs, but he doesn't take wickets, Bracken and Watson just bowl doorknobs, Taity still looks dangerous but he will ALWAYS go for runs, White bowls pies and Hogg is a typical leg-spinner who goes for runs, but does take wickets (obviously didn't today).

Our bowlers simply aren't good enough, and we struggle without Lee

Lets take this guy to the World Cup:
Code:
Bowling O M R W Econ
CL White 3 0 29 0 9.66

Sure. I'd take him south.

We dont need another allrounder. Roy, Pup, Watson, Hoggy and Hodge is more than enough. If we are to take him it would be as a bowler who can bat, not a batsman who can bowl. A bowler he is not.

Roy may not even take part in this world cup. If he does it will be in the later stages and he will not be match fit after not having played for more than a month. Pup is not an allrounder, he is a batter who can bowl for 5 overs if needed. Watson. He needs match fitness. Hogg is predominately a bowler. Hodge i doubt has even bowled at ODI level, regularly does for the vics, but not his country. That leaves one pure allrounder in watson.

Re: 2nd ODI: New Zealand vs Australia at Eden Park, Auckland

Pup is out injured, Symonds is out injured. Watson is ********house and should be dropped, Jaques can't bat at the top level, Tait bowls too many wides.

Re: 2nd ODI: New Zealand vs Australia at Eden Park, Auckland

pup will be back for the world cup though
