2nd ODI: Pakistan vs South Africa at Lahore
The second game in this series starts today with Pakistan looking to get one back on South Africa in what has been a pretty disappointing effort so far. Whatever happens, Shahid Afridi holds the key for Pakistan and believe it or not, heads into this game like the last ODI as the team's oldest and most experienced player. Hard to believe isn't it? Afridi batted at eight in the last game, which greatly surprised Graeme Smith and is far, far too low for a player of his quality.
Pakistan went into the last game with their side heavily skewed with batting talent and it was the batters who failed with Afridi proving a late revival but alas it was too much for even his hitting power.
Anyway, Abdur Rehman may replace Mohammad Hafeez in the Pakistan line-up with Danish Kaneria also a chance to play. I'm not sure why Danish can't get a game, he is a very good bowler although Rehman was Pakistan's leading wicket-taker in the test series.
No changes to the South African line-up, good to see Johan Botha back in the team after a long exodus due to a dubious action.
Will be an interesting game this one, Pakistan will be eager to make amends for what has been an ordinary home series while South Africa will be out to continue their recent good form. Fireworks are set to fly!
