Smith and Gibbs off to a steady start.

South Africa 33-0 after 7 overs.

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

Not exactly racing along here.

South Africa 93-3 after 26 overs.
Graeme Smith, an opener, has scored 30 runs. In 26 overs!

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

5/162 now. Graeme Smith was run-out for 48 and Justin Kemp was just bowled by Shahid Afridi for 42. Afridi has been Pakistan's best bowler with 2/28.

42 overs have been bowled, this pitch is playing rather slow so South Africa won't get a massive score. The team that bats is normally the winner, winning nine of the 13 games played here.

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

Abdur Rehman gets Boucher with his final delivery. Boucher didn't really look comfortable and is out for 17 off 38 balls.

Rehman finishes with figures of 1/42.

6/174 after 45 overs.

EDIT: Pollock gone to a soft caught and bowled courtesy of Shahid Afridi, 7/181 after 45.5.

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

South Africa all out for 197 from 49.2 overs.

Ntini is bowled by Umar Gul for a first ball duck. Earlier, Rao Iftikhar Anjum cleaned up Charl Langevedlt and had Johan Botha caught to finish with figures of 3/33. Iftikhar Anjum has been bowling pretty well of late and is turning into a pretty effective bowler.

A rather slow track this one, 197 will be a challenge.

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

Pakistan are 3/68 off 16.2 overs in response. Shahid Afridi started in a blaze of glory making a quickfire 32 off 18 balls before being caught at Smith at mid-off, off the bowling of Pollock. The other opener Yasir Hameed was alot slower making 18 off 46 before Ntini got him caught by Kallis. Then Morkel got Younis Kahn caught by Johan Botha for 10 off 19. The game is in an interesting position with Pakistan needing 135 runs at 3.95 per over on a tough batting wicket.

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

Pakistan 3/69 after 18 overs in reply. Shahid Afridi started in a flurry but fell for 32 of 18 balls. Yasir Hameed and Younis Khan are also back in the pavillion.

Ntini, Pollock and Morkel all have one wicket each.

Besides batting and bowling well today, Afridi took a blinder of a catch. Here it is,

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

South Africa finally get a breakthrough, Morkel gets the wicket of Malik for 42 after an easy catch by Mark Boucher.

4/147 after 38.1 overs.

Misbah-ul-Haq is the new batsman and is dropped by de Villiers. That was a tough chance though.

Re: 3rd ODI: Pakistan v South Africa at Faisalabad

And Pakistan have won, Misbah finishes the match with a massive six over long-on. He made 29 not out with Mohammad Yousuf anchoring the innings with 58 not out off 133 balls. It was a slow but cautious knock from Yousuf but more importantly it has got Pakistan to victory.

197 was a modest total but it was never going to be enough, Pakistan just had too much class and an all-round performance has seen them claim victory by 6 wickets, finishing up on 4/202 after 48.1 overs.

Pakistan now lead the series 2-1 with two games to go, something that didn't look likely after the first match.

Man of the Match was Shahid Afridi.

The fourth match of the series is on Friday at Multan.
