4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

Andrew Flintoff is back for this game at Old Trafford, the place where he calls home. He hasn't had much luck at this ground and hasn't played an ODI here since 2003. That will all change today. Flintoff is expected to be the back-up to seamers Staurt Broad and James Anderson who have bowled well in the series so far.

India on the other hand will be looking to level the series again after a poor showing in the previous match. As a side, India do quite well here, in 1983, they beat England in a World Cup semi-final and defeated arch rival, Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup "Super Six" stage. Old Trafford has proven to be a fast ground so India may in fact play an extra batsman to aid their cause. Batting first will be a major advantage here.

England will be out for a third victory here to boost their lead in the series while India will have to knuckle down and try and level the series once more. Should be a good game this one.

England XI (likely): 1 Alastair Cook, 2 Matt Prior+, 3 Ian Bell, 4 Kevin Pietersen, 5 Paul Collingwood*, 6 Andrew Flintoff, 7 Ravi Bopara, 8 Stuart Broad, 9 Chris Tremlett, 10 James Anderson, 11 Monty Panesar.

India XI (likely): 1 Sachin Tendulkar, 2 Sourav Ganguly, 3 Dinesh Karthik, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Rahul Dravid*, 6 Mahendra Singh Dhoni+, 7 Ajit Agarkar, 8 Piyush Chawla, 9 Ramesh Powar, 10 Zaheer Khan, 11 RP Singh.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

India crawling along at the moment and are 4/132 after 36 overs.

Ganguly, Karthik and Dravid all fell early to leave India at 3/32. Sachin Tendulkar pulled them out of trouble but fell a short time ago for 55. His wicket was taken by an unlikely hero in Kevin Pietersen.

Pietersen, Broad, Anderson and Flintoff all have one wicket each.

Only one change to the above sides, Owais Shah in for Chris Tremlett.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

Very poor batting by India, all out for only 212 in less than 50 overs. England are 41 for 3 wickets in the 7th over.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

Kevin Pietersen out to Chawla on 18.

England 81 for 4 wickets in 15th over.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

Andrew Flintoff out on 5 to Agarkar, whose heroic performance now has 4 wickets!! Will that be enough? We shall see.

England 94 for 5 in 17th over.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

And Powar nabs Owais Shah on his second ball for 8.

England are 110 for 6 wickets in 22nd over.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

And Collingwood runs himself out for absolutely no reason on 45, England's highest scorer (at least so far).

England 114 for 7 in 25th over.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

that is what I would call an 8th wicket partnership.

99 runs

England win by 3 wickets.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

Broad and Bopara put together a matching winning, unbeaten 99 run partnership. Bopara got 43 not out of 82 and Broad got 45 not out off 73.

England now go 3-1 up in the series and really steal this game. India will be angry to have let this match slip. They could have levelled the series 2-2 but now they're 2 matches down in the series.

Re: 4th ODI: England vs India at Old Trafford

India lost their plot completely. RP Singh was completely disappointing as a bowler fetching no wickets. Of course, more blame lies on their impotent batting (what the **** is up with Dhoni BTW, he has become completely washed up) than RP Singh.
