Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Third out of four matches for each team in this tri-series.
Can Bermuda pick up their first win, or will Canada build on their earlier win over Bermuda and actually pick up a second win in a row?

standings after the first 3 matches:
Code:
Match 3 of 6 P W L NR T BP Points NRR
Netherlands 2 2 - - - 1 9 +0.825
Canada 2 1 1 - - - 4 -0.021
Bermuda 2 - 2 - - - 0 -0.771
4 points for a win, and Netherlands got a bonus point for scoring 1.25 times Bermuda's run rate in the last match.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Bad news for Bermuda: Minors, Smith, and Hemp all out early.
Osinde took all 3 wickets for Canada.

Bermuda 33-3 after 12 overs.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Janeiro Tucker hung around for a while, but is finally out now.

Bermuda 66-4 after 21 overs.

Romaine is joined in the middle by Mukuddem. These two will need to do something special if Bermuda wants to put up a decent target.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Romaine managed 29. Mukuddem is still in there on 31, along with Cann on 19.
Bermuda is 118-5 after 38.

At this rate, Bermuda is going to finish up with something around 175.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

More wickets falling for Bermuda, but Mukuddem is still hanging in there, currently on 45.

Bermuda is 144-7 after 45 overs, still looking like they're heading for somewhere around 175.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Mukuddem has reached his half century, and that 50 is his highest score in ODI's.
Bermuda 150-7 after 46

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Mukuddem out for 57,
Bermuda finish their 50 overs at 178-9

Codrington took 4 wickets, and Osinde took 3.

Canada has a chance to win this one, they'll be pretty disappointed if they can't beat this score.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Canada are 117/4 after 28 overs, should be on their way to an easy win.

THey may want to pick it up, though, because according to my calculations they have to reach the score in 40.1 overs in order to pick up the run rate bonus point. We'll see!

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

136/5 after 33 overs, decision time as to whether to go for the bonus point or not. RRR to win is just 2.53 but RRR for the bonus point is 5.87. With 5 wickets down now, you wouldn't want lose too many more...

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Looks as though they're going for it - in the last 2 overs they've scored 22 runs and lost a wicket. Now sit at 158/6 off 35 overs, and the RRR for the bonus point is just 4.2

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

oh boy oh boy.

Needing 11 from 2.1 to get the bonus, Canada had scored 7 and Codrington went for a big pull to win it, and skied one. Now need 4 runs from 9 balls to win the bonus point.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

It's over, and Canada get the bonus point. It was looking touchy, with Sanjay Thuraisingam doing everything he could to not score during the final over, but after 4 dot balls Hasan Durham bowled a wide one, the batters ran, and Canada wins it to pull even with the Netherlands on the top of the table, setting up a 'Championship Match' tomorrow.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

I thought I'll save myself the agony and check in when it's all over. Oh Man!! another disappointing loss for the islanders. I know some of their players have been suffering some minor injuries and decided to play through it.
Congratulations to Canada on their 2nd win.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

Good job by Canada to pick up the bonus point. It might seem fairly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but I think it's a sign that they have their sights set higher, and want to be playing at the highest level they can.

Now let's see how they can do in their final match against Netherlands.

Canada really need to look at their batting if they want to beat The Netherlands, who have so far looked a cut above the other two. A real shame for Bermuda that they seem to be going backwards - they seriously need to improve on fitness as well. For the best paid of the associates, they are so far not looking to be earning their keep. I hope for their sake they get things in order before January.

Re: Bermuda v Canada Tri-Series 4th ODI

This is certainly the worst time for Bermuda to be going backwards. I'll tell you one thing, the fans back home are NOT HAPPY!! particularly with the money that is being spend on them. Fitness is definitely a problem and each player is responsible to keep themselves fit. Some certainly need to lose some weight, this may be a harsh thing to say but true.

If this is a bad spell their going through, it couldn't have happened at the worst possible time.

Anyway, I'm happy for Canada and will be cheering for them against The Netherlands, hope they can pull off a victory.
