bowling grip

hi,

i was just wondering if u guys can tell me the grip for doosra and which way to spin.( plz explain it well) i hve been searching on google and they hve explained but i dont get it. I appreciate alot. thanks you

Re: bowling grip

I dont think theres really a set grip for a doosra,
in the way that pretty much every leggie that bowls
a flipper has a different grip.
I would try watch some footage of Murali's doosra and
note what he is doing

30-52 seconds may help you:

Haven't watched it, but this might help too:

Re: bowling grip

saqlain mushtaq has a really weird accent.

as far as Mendis's doosra, he flicks the side of the ball at the seam with his middle finger and gets some help from his thumb too I believe. Not a traditional offspinner's doosra, but no complaints if it works!

Re: bowling grip

I was mucking around earlier using the Mendis grip and it's a pretty decent method. Was only using a 4 3/4 oz ball, but it certainly gives something extra to the ball and I reckon if you spent time developing it, it'd be a very handy weapon.

The biggest problem might be getting enough grip on the ball, especially if you have smaller hands though.
