I have been watching with great interest the growing deterioration of the Australia/China relationship over recent months. The catalyst having been Australian PM Scott Morrison's call for a global inquiry into the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. This has since led to a boycott of some Australian goods by the Communist powerhouse and our largest trading partner plus general bullying and intimidation. In recent weeks the situation has further deteriorated over tit for tat allegations of cyber hacking and interference in each others internal affairs by certain journalists and diplomats.

By calling for a Covid-19 inquiry Sco Mo did what other Free World leaders were thinking. Almost all were accusing China of starting the killer virus, which has killed almost one million of our world citizens, and calling it the Wuhan Virus after the Chinese city where it is believed to have first surfaced. The only people not accusing China were the Peoples Republic of China themselves. The Chinese have two distinct characteristics. One is inscrutability. The other is never seen to be losing face. So why is Beijing denying Covid's origins. Surely once it is found to have started in Wuhan they have lost face big time. Then there need not have been any reason to harass, intimidate and bully its trading partners and generally act like a petulant big brother. Comments.

Those Beijing bullies are at it again.. making up all sorts of excuses to further hurt our economy over trade. Something has to be done before Beijing succeeds in destroying Australian exporters.. mostly hard working farmers and miners.
The latest product to be dumped by Beijing is our well respected seafood. Last week: $2 million worth of Australian rock lobsters were left to rot on the tarmac at a Shanghai airport. Chinese customs claimed they were testing for chemicals.
Sure they were Chairman Jinping.

At the same time, a shipment of Queensland timber was also held up at Chinese customs over some bogus accusation of a wood rotting parasite or some such..
This all started months ago with grain exporter, Emerald Grain, suspended from trading barley to China. Since then it has snowballed with Australian exporters warned by Chinese customs officials not to accept sugar, red wine, timber, coal and copper. Now lobster has been added to the list. To cap it off, word came that China's Alcoholic Drinks Association has asked its government to place retrospective tariffs on some Australian wine.

I am and I expect many of my proud fellow Australians are hopping mad over Beijings constant bullying and intimidation. I dont hear AUSTRADE jumping up and down telling Beijing to back off, while the World Trade Organisation has been conspicuous by its absence. Is what China is doing allowed.. targeting one nation for punitive measures because it dared stand up to another. Surely this is not classed as legal. At the very least it is not ethical.

How mate? Yeh pick on the little fish as they dont have the guts to do same with America. They may feel they can do without much of our exports but they need superior Australian iron ore for their steel. We have to find and i believe we can find alternate markets for much of our exports currently going to a totalitarian communist state. I will shout to the rooftops the day we finally turn our back on China as a trading partner.
 
The Chinese tossers were bullying NZ to stay out their matters, saying don't take our friendship for granted, otherwise they'll take their students out of our universities, won't let our students go to their universities, won't trade with us anymore... unfortunately Ardern won't do anything about it, especially in these very difficult times & we're only a little country.
Only way to really hurt China is for a lot of the countries to get together & boycott the mongrels.
 
Yeh the Commies policy is "you criticize us and we will hurt your economically". They have also threatened to remove their students from Oz universities.. citing racism. Utter crap. What fools we were in the west to open up China by buying all their cheap stuff.. and we have been doing it ever since. Now so many countries are beholden to them for their economic prosperity.. Mate I can not see Ardern doing anything but kow towing to her socialist masters. Same as our socialists (Labor).. which are in opposition here.. thank god.. and hopefully remain there for many years.

Evidently the European Union is becoming more anti China.. the UK and Japan also but do they have all that much clout to hurt the Commies.. America does .. needed Trump to stay in power there as not sure some left leaners in Biden's Democrat party will allow him to upset the Commies. With the Yanks leading the way we a combined west then have the muscle to send China back to the middle ages.

Yeah, nothing worse than bullies mate... reckon in NZ if the opposition had got in they would've done the same as Ardern.

Trump was always going to consistently have a crack at the Chinese... but the bloke is a complete nutter though, as shown when he was there, so really had to go, for example his handling of the virus in his own country was an absolute disgrace.

Mal any talk from Ardern govt. re signing up to this Belt & Road scheme the Commies have. There is plenty of info online about it. In a nutshell it is China offering loans to some smaller or third world countries to build much needed infrastructure. On the surface a very magnanimous gesture.. but there is a darker undertone to it. Read up on it.. it may shock you. Sco Mo has given it a wide berth but one socialist state premier has signed up to it.. the same premier that bungled the Covid quarantine and aged care in his state.

Haven't heard about Ardern signing up with the Chinese bullies about that scheme... we get a flood of news these days with Trump/Biden & of course all the Coronavirus issues around the world daily.
Yeah, China will do anything that is going to benefit them... will read up on the Belt and Road scheme in more depth mate👍
 
Still no word about NZ signing up for the commies B&R scheme Pete? Do you recall I told you about the Victorian socialist Premier signing up to the scheme. Well this morning Sco Mo kyboshed Beijing's devious plan. He said it "was not in the national interest". Has plenty of balls our PM as this is certain to further inflame those commies. They will probably retaliate by banning more of our exports.

Pete also hearing Ardern has pulled out of the FIVE EYES group.. so as not to upset China. Not a good message for NZ to send to its Western allies?

Australia has once again poked those Commies in the eye with a sharp stick by cancelling Chairman Dan's Victorian Belt & Road deals. And is Beijing pi**ed off big time. This is what the CCP mouthpiece Global Times said when they heard Sco Mo's brave move to retain our sovereignty.

Just to put you all in the picture as to the way those sneaky commies have infiltrated Australia by stealth. In recent years it has wormed its way into the Australian electricity grid by buying or leasing various energy projects. Then some how it persuaded the Northern Territory govt. that the 99 year leasing of the Port of Darwin was a good investment for the NT. Ditto with Newcastle Port in NSW.. the world's largest coal port. Yeh sure.. good investment for Beijing and a place to land Commie Navy ships. And that having the West Australian govt sell them land in the desert to built an airstrip for its mining interests was also a good investment. Great so those commies now have an ideal place to land its deadly Chengdu jets. There is now a big push by certain influential people to have the Darwin deal reversed. I think the government is listening. No time like the present to send Beijing a reminder that Australia is a sovereign nation so stay the hell away.

Beyond the direct threat to Australia's main commodity export, China is also the unnamed reason behind a $198m boost to enhance "trade and strategic capability" announced in the Australian Budget this week. The money will help businesses better understand the risks of the dicey trade relationship with China and diversify their markets.
The money will also be spent placing more diplomats in the region, as the government finally realises it needs additional personnel on the ground to counter China's growing influence in the Pacific.


Despite what those Commies intended by its trade embargo and sanctions on our exports such as meat, wine, timber and other foodstuffs, surveys show it has had only a limited impact on Australia's economic recovery with most exporters finding new markets. Stick that in your pipe Beijing and smoke it. The 'elephant in the room' tho is if Beijing finds another supplier of quality iron ore. If we are unable to find additional markets that will most certainly hurt our economy. Iron ore export revenue was worth $116b to the Australian economy in 2020 with some 70% going to China. That figure is expected to rise markedly this year as ore prices have risen.

I wouldn't go eating my own pets for example. But the Chinese do.
I would never eat a bat but guess what China does.

How dare they.. savages. They also force workers to cook cockroaches and other insects for their children because they are paid peanuts for 14-16 hour days in a factory or elsewhere. Nothing short of slave labor.
 
I like Chinese food but I'd never eat dogs, bats, insects, or whatever else they cruelly kill, I just stick to egg fried rice, meat free chop suey rolls, curry and rice, I hardly eat meat anyway but to think how people can eat dogs makes me so sick.
