Cricket direct

Right, basically i ordered a few bits off cricketdirect.com on Saturday 22nd March and this included a short sleeve white GM shirt for about 15 quid. I got a call the next day from them saying they had none of these shirts in stock and would i like a 3/4 length one to which i declined. They then went on to say they were having a delivery on the tuesday 25th and they would ring me if they didn't get any of the short sleeved GMs in. I had no call on tuesday so assumed it would be delivered within about 7-10 working days. I have still recieved nothing and am now back at college during the week (this was part of the reason i ordered the items at this time as i was on easter holiday). It's been 11 working days now and nothing. Tried emailing them but have had no reply and to be honest i'm seriously unimpressed.
Has anybody else had problems with them at all?

Cheers, Morgan.

Re: Cricket direct

Yes. Everyone I know has had problems with them. They're an awful company, and have a terrible track record when it comes to delivering orders. I ordered loads of stuff from them and none of it came, and I had to ring them to find out the problem. Avoid them and use either BarringtonSports or CricketSupplies.

Re: Cricket direct

thanks for the advice i may well do that just from viewing your responses. I'll cancel it right away. They havn't taken my money off yet as i had my bank balance through and nothing from cricket direct gone maybe they do that after the delivery. Anyway i'll get it cancelled thanks for the advice.

Re: Cricket direct

If nothing has come out of your account then nothing is in the pipeline to be sent. Generally, they will charge your account when they get the order ready to post.

The service you've had is shocking and I would be on the phone having a word with them.

Re: Cricket direct

I waited and waited for a pair of batting gloves and was always told they would come in the next delivery, but never did!!
I found Newitts very good if thats any help.

Re: Cricket direct

cheers for the replys guys. I kinda hope nothing is coming as i have that bad feeling i'll ring to cancel tomorrow or ask about it and they'll say ok, then charge me come next month or something! Anyway i couldn't ring tonight as they're open till 5pm so i'll see what on earths going on tomorrow. At least i know for the future.

p.s Wayne what happened with regards to payment with your gloves if they were never delivered? Or were you never even charged.

Re: Cricket direct

I was told that you`re not charged untill the item is posted and they were as good as their word on that point. No gloves but still had my money which was lucky because my local sports shop had a sale of cricket stuff and got some better gloves for less money. Things don`t happen like that for me very often.

Re: Cricket direct

i used Cricket Direct a couple of times, but as they ar elocal i went over there (Stalbans) they were useless then and even less helpful over the phone.

Since then i have stuck to Barringtonsports! quality service everytime.
;)

Re: Cricket direct

Well i rang them up and apparently it's on it's way ::) so i said ok no worries cos im sure the products are fine its just a ridiculous wait. And i won't be at home to get it i don't think so...that will be interesting.

Re: Cricket direct

well i just ordered some bits form barrington sports, had an email 10 mins ago saying all instock and despatched!

i'm quite impressed! and it takes alot as i run a Online etailer myself!

Re: Cricket direct

Barrington are brilliant. I once ordered a bat grip at 4pm on a Friday and it came the next day, even though it was a Saturday. Brilliant service. I ordered my bag and gloves from them, they realised the gloves weren't in stock so gave me a ring, I then cancelled 1 half of my order and kept the bag with them.

Also, on the point of online retailers, avoid Pro4sport, their site is complicated, the order status page is extremely complicated and you recieve no e-mails to confirm orders, they don't reply to e-mails, awful company.

Re: Cricket direct

i'm really tempted to order something cheapish off barrington sports and see if its delivered before the cricket direct stuff lol.

Re: Cricket direct

well as long as its in stock (which they show online) and before 4pm Cut off time and u select citylink next day your on a winner!

Re: Cricket direct

lol well it all came today, wierd story actually.

Last week (which was my final week off for easter holiday) i stayed in every morning till the post had arrived till sort of 10.30 ish and last friday i thought - whats the point so i went and got a trim at the barbers at 9 o clock...they tried to deliver it then!! So anyway my mum picked up the card saying it was delivered but there was no one at home but didn't know i had ordered anything so didn't tell me (meant i could have probably gone to the post office place in my town to pick it up on saturday) then she said this morning and i said its probably mine, luckily brother is on his holidays this week so he signed for it.

So there you have it, it wasn't so bad really in that it only took 8 working days from the tuesday when they had their delivery but i probably wouldn't use them again. :D

Re: Cricket direct

glad it got sorted in the end but it sounds like cricketdirect need to sort out a few things, like communication for starters
