Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

Game One is on!

i've been looking at it a bit

Tasmania are currently 71/2 after 19.2 Overs

looking like a good game.

Tassie haven't been able to get away, and queensland haven't been able to pick up too many wickets. they've bowled alright though.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

Divenuto out for 9.

Tasmania are now 78/3

Dan Marsh and George Bailey looking to steady the ship at the moment.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

Tasmania struggling a little at 5/142 in the 40th over. Travis Birt has top score with 39 but he fell a long time ago, Tim Paine is 31 not out.

Some very dark clouds now around the ground.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

Mark Divin out for 41 off 39 balls. Hit 3 sixes on debut. Paine is 55 not out.

6/198 in the 47th over.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

Brett Geeves is run out by Jimmy Maher for one who also took the earlier catch of Divin.

7/202 after 47.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

14 runs off the last over sees Tassie end up 7/226 from their 50 overs. Not a bad finish I guess, they were going to struggle to get 200 at one point.

They have Paine to thank really who finished 73 not out. Brendan Drew was 6 not out at the end.

Grant Sullivan was the most effective bowler with 2/43.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

Result: Tasmania won by 89 runs (D/L method)

Tasmania: 7/226 (50 overs)
Paine 73* (95)
Divin 41 (39)
Sullivan 2/43 (9)

def.

Queensland: 6/63 (23.3 overs)
Maher 18 (39)
Perren 16 (47)
Drew 3/15 (5.3)

Brendan Drew picked up 3 wickets as the Queenslanders crashed to 6/63. Then the rain came in and stopped play and they never got back on the field Tassie subsequently belting the Bulls.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup: Queensland vs Tasmania at the Gabba

bit of a shellacking wasn't it?

good start for the Tasmanians though.

Queensland won't come close to them in the 4 dayer coming up.
