ICC just doesn't get it. Still sticking with this BS group format even after
the WC has showled what a fiasco it can cause. With this 20/20
game anything can happen. Look for a couple more full members being
out after just two games.

Well what do you propose as a better format? A single knockout is ridiculously high in variance. The format you talked about in the other thread is just logistically ridiculous for fans, teams, and media alike. A group stage is really the only way to do it. If anything, they should admit more teams, to allow for a longer group stage, but they chose not to.

Re: ICC announces opening fixtures for Twenty20 tournament

The Timmyj Format only works with 16 teams, which
brings up the further point of why the ICC limited
the 20/20 WC to only 12 teams. This is a length
where the minnows have a much better chance to pull off an upset than the 50 over game and it's tailor made for TV audiences in
minnow countries. So what does ICC do? Leaves them out
in the cold.

hell aren't in Dubai."
