Welcome to Melbourne, Chris Rogers!

Catch, Arnberger, stuff you for leaving, how could you?

WE GOT ROGERS WE GOT ROGERS WE GOT ROGERS WE GOT ROGERS

Re: In: Rogers, Out: Arnberger

He wanted more chance of getting into the Australian team. I dunno how that works about but yeh.

Re: In: Rogers, Out: Arnberger

Well they get ranked by their 5 day worth, Test contenders receive a slightly higher value in the rankings, with a rating of 1.25 for every place on the scale, starting at 20 and increasing with each step to No. 1, while one-day players earn one point per position. The numbers are then combined to determine the top 25.

Oh and whos Arnberger?

Re: In: Rogers, Out: Arnberger

Why do you have to change teams to get noticed? Are the selectors biased or is the quality of cricket low at Western Australia that the players are not taken seriously?

An average opener.

If anything they are biased against Victoria, Victoria have none.

Re: In: Rogers, Out: Arnberger

Actually there is Cameron White, Brad Hodge and David Hussey. So they don't have 'none'. The reason he moved was because he wasn't getting any One Day action, thus putting him at a disadvantage for a contract, and the other reason is that he didn't like the WACA head honcho. That probably stemmed from not playing many one dayers. Frankly he couldn't crack the one day squad most of the time, and the games he did play he was crap. His highest was like 20 from 40 balls or something

Re: In: Rogers, Out: Arnberger

Actually a contracted player is a contracted player. They are not separated into ODI's and Test players. Those squads are just for the upcoming Carribean tour, not for the entire 12 months, although in fairness, it is unlikely that the squads will change a lot during that time.

But I mean there hasn't been a Bushranger playing for Australia in tests since Brad Hodge a couple of years ago.

Re: In: Rogers, Out: Arnberger

Maybe none of them have been good enough. In fairness, how many South Australians have been playing, 1. And he hasn't played 5 Tests. The fact is that there is no bias against Victorians. Back in the day it was dominated by Victorians. Almost every Australian domestic player, no matter how good, has struggled to make it into the International team.
