In Swing

Hi,
I can bowl the outswinger really well, however, when i try to bowl an in Swinger it just doesn't work. I hold the seam towards fine leg and finish my action off to the middle of my legs, when I do that the ball just goes leg side and doesn't swing. So can you tell me how to swing the ball in.

Thanks

Swing is from the wrist, so it should not matter how your arms finish the action. That being said, open up the position of your legs, to swing it in, if all else fails.

Re: In Swing

i'm not a bolwer but i thought swing came from seam position, finger position, ball condition. and as i always get told atmospheric pressure....

Re: In Swing

You have to keep the seam upright, and you do that by flicking your wrist/fingers downwards.

Re: In Swing

our level 3 coach tells all of our bowlers to lock their wrists! rather than flick...... but hey were at club level!

Re: In Swing

Lol yeh, I didn't really mean flick the wrist, just more of a movement downward if you get waht I mean and you probably don't :p, probably shouldn't of said flick but I mean you have to get your wrist behind it and like move it downwards, because if the seam isn't upright it probably won't swing so I'd agree with manee.
