IPL Game 26 - Chennai Super Kings vs Deccan Chargers at Chennai

Game 26 is in progress with Chennai hosting the bottom placed Deccan Chargers.

Despite being last, Deccan have done all the attacking so far and have Chennai teetering at 5/82 in the 14th over. Suresh Raina was just out for 32, he has top score so far in a pretty ordinary looking scorecard, the other score of note is MS Dhoni with 22 not out. Stephen Fleming is only other batsman above double figures, Fleming was dismissed for 14.

The wickets have been shared around so far, no-one has more than one wicket in this game at the present time.

Albie Morkel comes to the crease, they will need some big hits from him to get to a competitive score.

Dhoni gone now, out after hitting the onto his pad and then hitting the ball again on the shot followthrough. Afridi took a simple catch.

That was Ohja's first wicket and now every bowler has a wicket to their name.

6/94 as new batsman Joginder Sharma starts to throw the bat.

Joginder Sharma's and Albie Morkel's useful partnership comes to an end. RP Singh bowls a perfect yorker which takes Sharma's leg stump.

7/124 after 18.5 overs, would be aiming for about 140.

20 runs off Bangar's over sees Chennai reach 7/144. Morkel scored 29 not out with Gony making a quick 15 from only six balls.

Not a massive total, Chennai will find it hard to defend that however anything can happen, they will need quick wickets to have a chance of winning this game.

Gony takes a smart catch off his own bowling to get rid of Gibbs for 10.

1/25 in the 5th over. Scott Styris is the new man at the crease.

Morkel gets Gilchrist but not before Gilly did some major damage. Gilchrist gone for 54 off 36 balls and the score is 2/78 after 9.5 overs.

Styris is not out on 11.

Deccan won easily in the end, making 3/148 from 18 overs, winning by the comfortable margin of seven wickets. Scott Styris guided them to victory with an anchoring 36 not out, Rohit Sharma provided good support with 23 and then Shahid Afridi sealed the win with 20 not out off only six balls, his scoring shots consisting of 2 sixes and 2 fours.

Morkel, Gony and Muralitharan were the wicket-takers for Chennai.

A good win to Deccan, that should see them move off the bottom of the ladder while Chennai will slip back further into the clutches of those teams behind them, after a bright start, things are unravelling quickly for the Super Kings.

Man of the Match was Adam Gilchrist.
