Junior Coach

G'day all,

I am writing as a junior coordinator of a local cricket club playing in the CMCA competition. After taking on the role at the beginning of season 2011-12, it became apparent that a specialist junior coach would help accelerate the development of both our budding stars and those still learning the game.

Background: Whilst only being a small club, we once boasted one of the strongest juniors clubs rich in talent, which is starting to translate in senior success. However, over the past few years, for whatever reason, numbers started to drop off and we have been unable to field an under 14's and 16's. In season 2012/12 things started to pick up with a fair amount of work done off the field. We managed to run a strong Milo program and an under 12's side.

In the upcoming season we are looking to field an under 14's side, under 12's side, T20 Blast side and grow our strong Milo program.

So what we are looking for: The club feels as though we are getting the juniors back on track and look forward to once again have a deep pool of talented cricketers transitioning into senior cricketers. To help foster this we are looking for a coach to provide specialist batting and bowling to all junior players. We feel this role would be ideal for an experienced cricketer who has played at a high level and is now has a passion for the development of junior cricketers (whether that be a father of a junior cricketer or not). The role would involve being at the vast majority of training sessions on a Wednesday night (appox 1.5 hours), Milo sessions on a Friday night (approx 1.5 hours) and most Saturday morning game days (appox 2.5 hours). Thus not interfering with any intention to train and play themselves.

Whilst prior experience coaching juniors will be looked upon favourably, it is not be all and end all. Providing they have a passion for junior cricket.

Remuneration is available and will be negotiated with the applicants.

If you feel this role would be suited to you please feel free to reply to this thread or send me a private, upon which we can exchange contact details and discuss it further. Alternatively, if you know of anyone who may suited or know of another form of advertising which i could use please let me know.

Thanks and looking forward to your responses.

Hi mate,

How did you go finding a coach?

Our club is looking for some specialist work as well, but either finding most are too expensive, or don't have the expertise that we are after.

Thanks
