Moody quits Sri Lanka

Tom Moody has quit as Sri Lankan coach and will return home to coach his home state Western Australia. Trevor Penney, his assistant at Sri Lanka will also follow Moody back to WA.

Moody was said to be very pleased at the opportunity work with captain Justin Langer and WACA CEO Graeme Wood.

It is understood that Moody has been signed for three seasons, meaning he will coach the Warriors until the end of the 2009/2010 season.

Moody quits as Sri Lanka coach

Great news for Western Australian cricket. Moody was a favourite son over here and will no doubt get a lot of support from the WACA administration, players and also the fans.

This is no doubt the start of his campaign to coach the Australian team. He'll do his apprenticeship so to speak at WA before being considered for the top role.
