new cricket bats

Re: new cricket bats

What are you looking for? Anything in particular or a general bat?

How would you describe your batting style, slogger, strokemaker or something else. Do you like light or heavy bats etc.

If you give us a few pointers then we'll happily throw some ideas your way. Also, an idea of budget would be a great help.

Cheers for that ciza, I'll have a look later for you and post up some options.

We'll start with Kookabura and work outwards lol!

Re: new cricket bats

Having a look at the range and I think you'd be doing well to have a look at the Kookaburra Ice range and the Sub 40 in particular.

Re: new cricket bats

Ive got this sweet new gn bat recently. made in Melbourne by the guy who owns the shop so you can only buy it at meulemans, but i think you can order them from the website. it has great pickup and huge middle. although they cost a bit more than $80-90.

Re: new cricket bats

i wanted a grays and nicholls bat but my uncle didnt bring me one :cursing: but a cousin who is a life saver went to india and bought be a SS bat and gloves etc the only problem is that the bat is in US and I live in Canada its an 8 hour drive to my cousins house and im thinking that i wont have a bat b4 club cricket starts

Re: new cricket bats

Yeah, generally SS bats are ok, especially for what you'll want it for.

I only know a little about you/the bat you have/Canadian cricket but for the standard that you'll most likely be playing at, it should do you fine. If you find you have a real talent for the game then you may want to consider something else, most likely a decent grade of English Willow.

If you can pick out which bat you have from here SS Cricket Bats, then I can tell you a little more about it.

Re: new cricket bats

Well, when you get it post up a pic!

Don't forget that it will need some prep work before it's ready to be used (even if its said to be 'pre-knocked in'). There is a video on the site showing how to oil (if the bat needs it) and knock it in. Good prep work will really help the bat to play well and last.

Re: new cricket bats

Thanks, we do try to help. Cricket is a great game but it can be confusing to the beginner (and even those who have been playing for years).
