The BBC has revealed Makhaya Ntini has decided to end his career for South Africa. Great bowler and it looks like he's going to get a great send off. Hope he ends up in County cricket for a season or two.

International retirement .. not surprising as he has not featured at all in the national side. I suspect that he is hoping for an IPL contract and a stint in England. He will be available for the domestic cricket for a while me thinks. I think his timing is spot on.. a great player who ran in for his skipper.

Yeah, and let's not forget he was a trail blazer after in South African cricket history. A few more years in him, then hopefully he can oversee the rise of a generation of black South African talent in the sport.

From that point of view he has played a massive role.. I agree and I think his new academy (http://www.oldmutual.co.za/about-us...ses-and-articles.aspx?NavID=88&ContentID=3655) might help the process.

That looks fantastic... Although from an England fan's point of view, I'm not sure how pleased I'll be if SA can field a quartet of Ntini-alikes in 20 years time!
