Numbers on caps....

Sorry if this has already been discussed.....

I was wondering what the numbers represent on the Australian caps worn by the 1 day players?

Every player gets a number when they play their first ODI. They go in order.
Here's a list of every player's number.


England does the same thing. For example, Flintoff is the 154th Englishman to play in an ODI.
(you can see the little 154 right above his ear)

I'm not sure if other countries do it too. Maybe New Zealand?
