it feels like ( sorry for the incorrect anatomical description) like there becomes a point where my kneecap gets in the way of straightening my leg. then kind clicks but has a small bit of pain then i can ouut it straight again.
been like it for a couple of months. not sure what i was doing. it only happens when lifting leg from sitting position, does not bother me when i have weight on it standing or crouching in the keeping position.....
I cannot be sure without seeing you but it sounds like a miniscus tear.
It is worth seeing the GP about this one. If it is a tear, you would need a scan to see what kind of tear it is, which will give you an idea of length of time for recovery or whether you would need surgery.
If it is not bothering you too much you could leave it, it is not life threatening but if it gets worse, get it checked out.
Not expensive and really common. It may not be a tear but if it is, it just means a little bit of the meniscus (the cartilagey thing in the middle of the knee) is sticking out and impinging movement. The surgeon will just go in with a knife, through a tiny hole, under local and slice this bit off. Recovery in less than two weeks
i'm pretty sure i dont have any cartilage left, when i was younger i used to ride alot, over developed the outer muscles which pulled my knee caps down to one side, i wore the cartilage out, had physio to balance out the muscles?
