I'll probably update this as I've got games both Saturday and Sunday this week but I was playing a 20twenty today (first of the season for me) and opened the bowling returning figures of 4-2-5-2. After my first two overs they were 2-1-2-2 so I guess I went downhill in the second half of my spell!!!

Update to previous post: Today I was playing a 35 over match for a new team that I'd not played for before and I opened the bowling returning figures of 6-1-10-5 which is only my 3rd 5-fer and my best bowling so far this season. To top it off I equalled my season-best score of 7 when we were batting only to get out to a distinctly dubious umpiring decision.

Another 2 games this weekend, bowling 12 overs taking 3-78. Expensive, but the 5 overs I bowled on Saturday were against batsman who were just slogging everything, one lad scored a century off about 16 overs. Today I started poorly, bowling too short, but improved after the first 2 overs and took 2 wickets in a league match. The 2 wickets in the league game makes me the Leading Wicket-taker in the B Team, clear by 1 wicket.

I've only had 2 innings this month though, scoring 9 and 2*. I annoyingly batted at 11 today, and a member of my team said I was batting too low and even the opposition captain (who watched me bat when i scored the 9) said I was batting far too low. It's been a very good month. Have only 1 wicket less than my entire haul from last season this month. Very pleased with by performances.

I think June tends to be a very good month, it's just long enough into the season to be really finding your rhythm. From a personal point of view, 12 wickets this month have really boosted my tally for the season.

It sounds like you're going really well at the moment KP, keep it up!!

Yeh, you too mate, seems we're both going pretty well with the ball this month. Hopefully I proved in my short innings of 2* that i'm good enough to bat up the order, which should also be proven by the fact that the opposition captain thinks I should be batting higher up the order, as do team-mates. Just hope the skipper realises this now.

Hopefully I'll have a similar good month next month. Going to be a tough choice for Player of the Month this month, you've probably edged it though JB, better economy and a better haul, with 10-5 being far better than my 4-23.

Player of the month to be announced tomorrow morning, along with the new competition.

Ok, after much deliberation, it's been deceided to give Player of the Month for June to King Pietersen.

Though there were some sterling performances, it was felt that his consistency was the key factor and the one thing that lifted him above the rest.

So well done KP!
