Put your $$$ where it'll count, Stanford!

See Yank millionaire Stanford's offering Indies $5 mil to play in his Windies
20/20 gig. Doesn't he get it? Sink that money into 20/20 cricket in
Yankland and it'll begin the greatest cricket revolution in history.

Whether Stanford does it or not, one way or another eventually Twenty20 will make some inroads in USA. Maybe it will take some Indian American businessmen to do it. If even Twenty20 can't sell in USA, then no cricket ever will.

Oh, Gawd, I hope not! We've seen enough of those ex-pat incompetents with
Walmart Cricket, Major League Cricket, and all their other failures to
"promote" cricket in Yankland.
Yanks have to bring cricket to Yanks, no-one else.

This is the biggest problem of dealing with this guy. Even though he may at times have partially valid points, he is not interested in having any constructive dialog with anyone. (For example, the thread topic by itself is a perfectly valid and interesting new topic. There is different story behind it, for example Stanford has long history with his association in Antigua. Maybe uses it as tax-free haven for his money and money he spends on charities there is peanuts compared to what he would pay in taxes in USA. And that he has never shown any inclination for cricket growth in USA, so why would he make a sudden change in his habit now? What's in it for him? In the end, I don't expect anything to change for Stanford, but at least we could have a constructive dialog and maybe learn from different sides of an argument. That's what message boards are for.)

The problem with timmy is that he is only interested in monologue with himself, where he can keep using stupid racist epithets and expose his demographic ignorance. As I had said before, nothing more than a senile uncle at the annual Thanksgiving dinner who everyone learns to ignore over time.
