Signed bat from 1953 England tour..
Hi
Couldn't find a 'for sale' section on this forum, so hope this is ok here?
I'm selling by auction a bat left to me by my grandfather. I'm not into cricket and would rather it went to someone who would value it. I believe it to be signed by the Australian touring side of 1953. I understand that my grandfather had it signed after a match, possibly when they played Leicestershire or maybe at Trent Bridge. It is marked:
GUNN & MOORE LTD, MAKERS NOTTINGHAM ENGLAND
TREBLE SPRING
‘THE CANNON’ GUNN & MOORE
TRAVEL & SPORT LTD LEICESTER
AUSTRALIAN TOUR 1953
There are 16 signature I can see, some of the names I can make out are:
Authur Morris, R Lindwall, R Benaud, A Hassett
It is for sale by Plymouth Auction Rooms, England on Saturday 16th May, Lot 71. Their website is The Plymouth Auction Rooms - Tel 01752 254740
Cheers
Brett
