The Real Rumble In The Jungle - Darrel Hair VS ICC/Pak

Darrel has decided to sue the ICC/Pakistan board for Racial Discrimination. Broken on Cricinfo late last night. What do you guys think about it?

Thats not the point being argued here fellas. The point being argued is, was the ICC being racist in banning hair from umpiring test matches and not handing down the same consequence to Billy Doctrove. And did the Pakistan Board lure the ICC into making that decision.

I'll say no to the first one. Hair made the decision, Not Billy. Sure, He is probably one of the best umpires in the world at the moment. But he got it wrong. Really wrong. Pakistan was later cleared of Ball tampering, so it was really his actions that led to forfeited test (although pakistan should of had a bit more back bone and got on with the game, that's caming from a pakistan fan)

As for the other questions. I am almost without doubt that they Asian nations have/are Voted/Voting in blocks to ensure what they want is law. I feel that maybe the ICC should take that power away from the asian nations and put it into the hands of an unbiased source.

Hair has grounds to sue and has a very strong case to win some money from.

He was following the rule book the whole time, he saw a change in the ball that didn't seem natural (only mistake was straight away to award the 5 run penalty, a little more investigation on his part might of been better) but he followed the law sat down to him by the ICC.

Yet he is hugely criticised by the Pakistan board straight away after it, the ICC said they would stand by him yet only 48 hours later he is sacked for not doing a good enough job. YET the ICC release a report about the standard of their umpires of the last 12 months and amazingly Hair is sitting number 2. Must of been doing a really bad job.

It just shows you the amount of pressure that is exerted by the sub-continent. The ICC should never had bowed down to their pressure and should of stood by their man.

I hope Hair takes them to the cleaners.

Oh and where was the punishment for Billy? I mean he played a part in it yet what happened to him? Nothing, no action was taken and he took a personal 2 month break from the game.
