Training Logs

Re: Training Logs

I'm keeping a rough log but only of what i'm doing at nets, which is mainly bowling at the moment. As the season gets nearer then I'll pick up what I'm doing and fill it out more.

Also, with a bit of like, once we get the new site finished we should be able to make the blogs\training logs stand out a little more, which always helps. They can get somewhat lost up the top of the page.

Re: Training Logs

Can a dedicated section created as "Training Log" for the forum members.
It can updated on a day-to-day basis depending upon the net session, gym training etc.
It will be also easy for each members to keep a daily updated list about their cricketing progress and the experts guiding as well.

Re: Training Logs

Yeah, we are certainly looking to implement something along those lines. As you say, it would be helpful to the members to maintain their progress as well as the experts to give advice.

No - I've just had a look at it again and I can't see anything. As I tried to post the entry I had a thing come up saying I'd timed out. I logged back in again and it seems through that process the entry seems to have disappeared into cyber space?

That's unfortunate, your session might have timed out if you had selected a short duration for your login. Most browsers do preserve the text if you go back so that you could copy and post it again.

Just to further what someblokecalleddave has said. What do we put in these logs? Cricket specific training or everything from gym sessions to nutrition?

As much as you want to monitor. The trick is to track what you are doing so you can see improvements.

Re: Training Logs

 I was looking through these today. A spate of them appeared last November when this thread started but there don't seem to be many still active. I hope the associated training regimes didn't go the same way ;)

Any chance people could ressurect them to let us know how the season goes (at least in the northern hemisphere where it's soon to start)? And our friends down south can show us how their winter training is going?

Re: Training Logs

Someone further up the thread mentioned that the training logs have been somewhat neglected, which is true of mine. I did intend on putting the info in, but I'm a bit of a serial blogger and I have 4 different blogs on the go at any one time and I just found that I could cope with another. Also to be truthful I still haven't started training in earnest yet and all the training I was doing was sporadic. I also find it really difficult to detail what I'm doing and don't know the names of the exercises that I'm doing.

I still keep a log but it's in my own personal blog elswhere and you'd have to read through a load of other waffle in order to find the little bits of training I do get done. They're definitely worth doing for exactly the reason David highlights - you can monitor your own progress and reflect on what you're doing.

Re: Training Logs

I think that's part of the issue Dave, plus they are a bit hidden away so they tend to get forgotten about.

We're are just about finished with bit of a site revamp, which should help to highlight the useful bits more (training logs etc) and make them easier to update.
