Uganda/Tanzania tour of Kenya Jan 2007

Re: Uganda/Tanzania tour of Kenya Jan 2007

I've been out of the loop for awhile and had to really get my bearings.

Today Bermuda and Uganda played a friendly in which Bermuda won by 55runs. After a disastrous tri-series in South Africa late last year, this is certainly the boost they needed, leading up to the WCL tournament. If my memory serves correctly this is the first time they've played Uganda.

Here are the stats for the Uganda v Bermuda game:

Bermuda 247/10 Uganda 192/10
Parkland Sports Club
Umpires: Mohamed Khan & Lalji Bhudia (Kenya)

Bermuda have beaten Uganda by 55 runs, Bemuda won the toss this morning and elected to bat, with Lionel Cann the top scorer with 70, captain Irving Romaine scored 52, and David Hemp scored 45. In the bowling department for Uganda Raymond Otim finished with figures of 5-1-24-2. In reply Saleh Hamza scored 86 Not Out, while Saleem Mukuddem had bowling figures of 8.3-2-26-3.

I was about to mention the ICC Trophy in 2005, but I guess that was the day that got rained out.

35 extras given up by Bermuda's bowlers isn't very good, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that many of those extras came from people who won't be bowling much in the WCL.

Scotland beat Tanzania 214 to 135.

Uganda managed a win over Kenya A.

These results all seem to confirm that Uganda is definitely a step above Tanzania.

Canada clobbered Uganda 285-7 to 176-7.

I believe that's the last of the matches for either Uganda or Tanzania.
