Hey Guys,
I recently bought a Kookaburra Kahuna 400 bat (short-handle). I oiled it per instruction and then had an extra tec (sleeve) applied. I then knocked it in and used it in a game. Shortly after I noticed that the sleeve had started peeling off on the edges, and parts of the toe but more importantly, on the face of the bat there were some cracks on the sleeve (near the middle).
I decided to apply some sticky tape to the edges to help pin the sleeve down but this did not work. However i am more concerned about the face of the bat where there were some cuts/cracks on the sleeve. It is getting worse as the edges are peeling off easier each day.
Could someone please explain what may have caused this? Some say that oiling the sleeving a bat causes the sleeve to not stick properly, however i am not sure about this.
How should I repair/fix this? Thanks, appreciate it
