Warm-up Matches (Eng vs Aus, Pak vs RSA, NZ vs SL, Ind vs WI)

The top eight teams do battle in the last of the practice games. We should see some ripping games here with these countries going tooth and nail for victory. Play starts for all games very shortly except for India vs West Indies which starts one hour later.

Australia vs England

England won the toss and have elected to bat.

Pakistan vs South Africa

New Zealand vs South Africa

India vs West Indies

Ganguly out with ankle injury.

Australia vs England

Joyce fell early to Shaun Tait, LBW for five. Australia has had little success since then with Vaughan and Bell not out on 38 and 37 respectively.

England are 1/83 after 16 overs.

Pakistan vs South Africa

No score received although Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl.

New Zealand vs South Africa

A slow but steady start for New Zealand. The Kiwis are 0/30 after 10 overs wih Stephen Fleming and Lou Vincent not out on 14 and 16 apiece.

India vs West Indies

West Indies won the toss and batted first. They are currently 0/9 in the third over.

South Africa all out for 199

New Zealand vs South Africa
New Zealand 285-8 after their 50. The Kiwis are the only team playing today that lost their first match, so it's probably not too surprising that they've put up the highest score of the day so far.

My verdict: lots of low scores in the 4 days of practice matches. Looks like this tournament isn't going to be filled with teams trying to chase down 300 or 350 very much.

Looking at these scores, the competition next week should be very interesting. It goes to show that these games could go any way. Bermuda should feel too bad about their performance
