Both these teams come in having won their first matches of the tournament handily. Kenya beat Bermuda by 10 wickets on Monday, and the Netherlands took Canada by 8 wickets on Tuesday. Now only two teams make the finals, and Ireland and Scotland both look like solid teams - so this match is a big one in terms of who goes to the finals and who goes home.

Match to begin: January 31, 2007 - 06:30 GMT

Weather: Cloudy with sunny breaks, 23C(73F)

Kenya XV: Steve Tikolo, Thomas Odoyo, Ravindu Shah, Tanmay Mishra, Collins Obuya, Peter Ongondo, Nehemiah Odhiambo, Maurice Ouma, Malhar Patel, Hiren Varaiya, David Obuya, Rajesh Bhudia, Jimmy Kamande, Tony Suji, Lameck Onyango

Netherlands XV: Luuk van Troost, Jeroen Smits, Peter Borren, Daan van Bunge, Ryan ten Doeschate, Mark Jonkman, Muhammad Kashif, Alexei Kervezee, Tim de Leede, Adeel Raja, Darron Reekers, Edgar Schiferli, Billy Stelling, Eric Szwarczynski, Bas Zuiderent

Re: WCL Match 6: Kenya v Netherlands

I think the last time they played was in the Intercontinental Cup, right? Netherlands looked like a better team then, but I think Kenya has really strengthened their squad over the past year.

This could be an interesting match. I'd love to see the Dutch upset Kenya and really make this tournament wide open.

Kenyan batting really hasn't been tested a whole lot lately. It'll be interesting to see how more than just their top 2 perform.

This match should be very interesting. Since they beat Bermuda easily, I hope Kenya won't let their guard down.

Re: WCL Match 6: Kenya v Netherlands

Well what do you know!, Netherlands all out for 131 runs. Almost the exact score Kenya beat Bermuda.

Kenya : 13/0 after 1 over

Re: WCL Match 6: Kenya v Netherlands

Kenya: 111/3 after 26.1 overs

This should be a breeze for Kenya

Re: WCL Match 6: Kenya v Netherlands

Well that's it.
Kenya win by 7 wickets

Kenya: 133/3, Netherlands: 131 all out
Highest scorer for Kenyan M.A Ouma 47 runs
Highest wicket taker: T.M. Oydoyo with 3 wickets

Another blowout for Kenya. It'll be interesting to see how they respond if they get in a close match later on. In the last match of the tri-series last week, they had a bit of a large target to chase against Canada, and capitulated without much of an effort.

I think that match was an exception rather than an indication of what might happen. Kenya were without Odoyo and it was a dead rubber. Neither is an excuse for losing that match, and the coaching staff were not happy. It was perhaps the reason, and from what I have seen so far from the Kenyans, this is a side full of focus and determination.

Scotland and Ireland will be the real tests and any of these three could make the final.

Kenya should be too strong for the rest of the competition, they have a half decent line up and against some of these beginners they'll swallow them up
