West Indies have a chance!

As stupid as this sounds I really think the Windies might have a chance in this tournament, its not based on anything factual, just a gut instinct.

They seem to have a team which contains a few bits and pieces type player but ones that can shine in short burst which is ideally suited to Twenty20.

I've probably cursed them now but you never know.

They could advance to the semi-finals or maybe even the finals but I don't think they can win this thing.

I think this is the closet that cricket gets to being like a the FA cup where anyone can beat anybody on their day. Form, whilst helping, goes largely out the window when the game is reduced to nothing more than a 20 over thrash.

Like I said it's nothing more than a gut instinct but we'll see!

I have always rated the West Indian batsman - especially their big hitters.

Imagine if Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul, Smith and so on get going?! Oh, and don't forget Marlon Samuels. Yeah, Tom, these guys could be a good bet as a dark horse.

Definetly. The West Indies do have big and powerful hitters of the ball (What country doens't though?) Bowling might be a problem for them though.

I had this feeling before the world cup, but i just think the team is too split to be able to do it. It could happen but i see Sri Lanka as more of a threat.
