Eca 2011/2012

Mine would be:

Bulleen: Davidson - can take bags
Deepdene : Parsons - damaging with bat & ball
Mulgrave : Aldons - big scores in 2-days always handy
Hawthorn : Tongue - run machine
MA : Hargreaves - consistent
Marcellin : Black - can be damaging on his day
RC : Laws - young bloke with an old head
St Kevs : Crawford - can ruin a bowling attack in a session. Who is the "Blood" for skevs a couple of mentioned... Never heard of him?
ED : Thompson
GI : Armstrong - can score quickly and take a game away from you
Boronia : Suckling - don't know much about him, but just going on stats

Going pretty similar except:
Boronia: Bowen, very good bowler
Marcellin: youngish stocky left handed opening bat. Hits a long ball

Oh, that Blood. Yes, VERY big man, but he hasn't played for them in over 5 years! Unless he has a kid running around for skevs I don't think he should be included in this category...

20/20 draw tonight. Does anyone want to put up some of the chances?

Good topic. Not sure if many here care about the 20/20 comp but I love it! Even though its a little bit of fun, when teams are on the park they really want to win and its a really fun format to play in. If only the ECA could do something about those crap pink balls!

Skevs would have to be a main chance. Runners up first year, winner in the second and I think they made it to the knock out phase again last year. Deepdene could be dangerous in this format with big dino and being used to playing attacking strokes on a small ground. Some of the synthetic sides have made a strong showing the last couple of years as well. STC and Deepdene Uniting the ones to watch for mine.

I'm not strong enough to make my club's side in 20/20, but I enjoy watching it. It's obviously very different to 80 over cricket and it seems is all you need is 2 batsmen to make 30 or 40 plus a good fielding side and you're half way there. I look forward to opening a tinny and watching the games.

Is the Haw/Ashy/Deep/Trin Willison the group of death or what? Mulg/MA group seems ok, they should get through. STC/RC/Camb Mag/Clifton Hill is another intriguing one - what team are Camb putting out? Bulleen should get through too. Should be a great comp.

Pool 3 defintely the pool of death. It is actually a 5 team pool with BORONIA in the mix as well!

Bulleen and Skevs should breeze through their groups.

Another interesting group for mine is: Glen Iris/North Balwyn/Mazenod/Deepdene Uniting

Ok, with T20 comp starting next week, who are the players that are born to play this style of cricket? My gems are:

Big Dino (Deep)
Dineen (Marc)
Blood (StK)
M Thompson (ED)
Torriero (Haw)
Slack (Mulg)
Male (Burw)
Voor Haar (RC)
Patel (MA)
Blennerhassett (Bor)
Swift (Ash)
Hoare (Deep)
L Sturgess (Deep)
Dent (RC)
Alev (Mulg)
Merry (Old C)

My tips for what they are worth

GI to defeat Bulleen GI's to score too many on their home track
Marcillin to defeat RC just because
AW to defeat MA MA are possibly gone (but I may be wrong)
Mulgrave to defeat Skev Mulgrave just too strong
Deepdene to defeat East Donny Deepdeene too strong and would have leanrt alot about bowling at GI last week
Hawthorn to defeat Boronia flip of the coin Boronia are not to be taken lightly
