Gayle certainly isn't batting at his fastest, but if these two can keep this opening partnership going through the final session, it'll do just fine.

West Indies 119-0

Gayle and Ganga have picked up a the pace a little here and have started scoring more frequently. Gayle hit two 4's and a 6 in one over.

They've both reached their half centuries now. Let's see how much farther they can go.

Great opening partnership. Slow and steady stuff from Gayle, not what we'd normally expect from him, but he's playing very smart and it's starting to pay off. Ganga has finally come through after failing in the first test. That's good to see.

I'm finally relieved to see good disciplined batting by West Indies. Still a long way to go though.

West Indies 151-0 after 57 overs.

A superb partnership between Gayle and Ganga. Ganga was struggling a bit towards the end there, due to some cramps in his arm and hand, and hopefully he'll be able to bounce back and start scoring again in tomorrow's opening session.

Gayle finishes on 87, Ganga finishes on 59.

It was a great day for the West Indies. Their bowlers took 6 wickets. Their batsmen didn't lose any. They still trail by 206 runs, but thanks to this opening partnership, that deficit seems entirely managable.

Okay, here comes Day 3.
Let's see if West Indies can build on yesterday's great performance.
It would be nice to see these two bat through the first hour.

Kaneria got Gayle early on for 93. I thought it might have been going wide, but what do I know.

Lara has come in, and he's been hitting some nice shots so far., picking up right where Gayle left off.

West Indies 193-1 after 72 overs, still trailing by 164 runs.

Gayle is out lbw b Danish Kaneria for 93 just 7 runs shy of his ton, Kudos to him on some fine display of batting.

What a great session that was, West Indies scored 161 runs, Pakistan picked up 4 wickets, and Lara scored another century.

362-4, West Indies now have a lead of 5 runs.
They'll want to take advantage of the wickets they still have left here and make that lead a big one. Something in the range of 410-430 would be relatively disappointing. They'll be thinking about hitting 500 now.

403-4, West Indies with a lead of 46 runs

Bravo with his 6th Test half century. Good partnership here, Bravo has taken a lot of the pressure off of Lara, who has looked a bit threatened by some of the spin the past few overs.

What a session for the West Indies. They scored 112 runs and didn't lose a wicket. Lara is on 154, and Bravo is on 56.

They should be up near 500 with a lead around 140 or 150 by the end of the day.
