Spots 3 & 4 wide open, I think it will be franks and camrea figthing for 4th, south morang and bats fighting for 5th and 6th. Monty is the big mover and have gone relatively unnoticed. Rely heavily on Caithness though.

What a dissapointment College have been, they'd be dirty with where they are after playing well last season...They are a lot better than 2nd LAST!

Interested to hear people's opinions on who should pay in the Money Shield rep team?

Interested to here the opinions of anyone involved at the College about there committee entering discussions with Research and Eltham about a possible merger. It is causing a few rumblings at Research! quite a few players want nothing to do with it, but a certain committee member has his own agenda to push. From Research`s point of view, I don`t think it would get up.

Nudie Run could be the man to fill us in.

At no stage has a discussion about merger with Eltham happened. I have heard the rumour about the College and Research but Eltham have had no involvement!

I`ll take your word for it Quinny. Eltham were mentioned by our Pres as someone that Eltham Coll were talking to. For the life of me I don`t even know why we are contemplating it! The idea of a man who has not had an intelligent idea in the 18 seasons I`ve been involved at Research, acted upon by a committee that are obviously short of inspiration and passion!! It`s tough work but you don`t jump off the ship as soon as you spot a leak, would of thought best to try and plug it as a first option!

I've heard that St Francis may be looking for a merge with someone in Barclay as it's the only way they will ever play there.

Its Tongs :D

And do you think that they are spruiking Eltham so that you guys get in quickly before you miss out?? Just like the draft? Managers going around saying that 14 clubs are talking to player x and offering $1mil a year for 15 years to try and get a club to commit?

basically, your pres is talking dead set shlte!

Who do we think will win the Lower Plenty vs Greensborough Grand Final?

Greensborough are 1 point in front of the 5th team:eek:
There batting seems to be a bit fragile.

Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

So who will be playing in the grand final and winning the flag? As a follower of Barclay Shield, it'll be interesting to see who will be coming up to the next level.

Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

Lower Plenty are in the box seat and you can throw a blanket over 4-5 other teams. Camrea Taipans might be second after this week if they can get the outright.

Seeing you are so familiar with Camrea blokes representing the competition, how many games have Bubis and Pougios missed when asked?

Would have been good to have them represented...

There were 2 blokes who were asked from each club,v however they are unavailable due to work and other commitments.

Merger talks are abundant, and apparently very fruitful.
Also talks of the DVCA throwing in a 3rd division next year or 2011/12 are starting to float around again.
Based on other successful comps, 2 divisions of 8 sides, (Barclay and Money) play 7 one day games and 7 two day games, therefore playing everyone home and away.
3rd division would contain 10 sides. Same format as Barclay this year.
So it would be bottom 5 sides in Barclay down, premier of Money up, and bottom 10 sides in Money to form a new division 3. May be known as ?????...
No wonder the comp wants mergers and possible that some clubs could fold if they do not meet the criteria. Minimum amount of sides, juniors, milo programs etc.....

I know there were talks between Research committee and Eltham College Wednesday week ago. This was mentioned to the club at training last Thursday. Suffice to say that many in attendance were extremley against the idea, no one spoke up for it! I can say with a degree of confidence that Research will not be merging with anyone and that the club will instead be going with a complete restructure of it`s Admin and cricketing departments.
