Big rumour going around about a big name signing this week at an under achieving BS Club. Should just about guarantee a finals spots with this player.

From within or outside the competition, we all know that big name recruits don't always translate to success. RE - Arnberger (although i'm tipping most clubs would have jumped at the opportunity to have him before last season)

I know it's not us. Can't be Plenty, Mernda, Stars or Epping - can't say they have under acheived. Macleod or North Eltham have not had the opportunity to under acheive as yet.
Diamo made a grand final two seasons ago, so i'm ruling them out
Eltham need more than one recruit to GUARANTEE finals next season in my opinion.
lower eltham played finals last year so don't think you referring to them.
apparently riverside have lost Steve Doyle & Steve Gleeson has retired, no pick ups as of last week, might be them but probably not.

Who have Research picked up?

if they have ALL there players available ie: Malone, Turner, Mctaggart, Soysa??, Collins & Ross and pick up another you could be on the money.

Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours

Whispers surrounding talks with a high profile player, considering wandering down to an up and coming DV club.

Mctaggart would be a good get if N.E.W can get him across the line......

that would be poor for Research if he goes aswell because i heard a rumour that shannon malone will be playing at Eltham College this year

i also heard that the franks have been poaching and have picked up opening bat from Eltham college.

simple question boys

who in they're right mind would want to play at the franks cmon, they have the worst set up in the northern suburbs not to mention the tools that play there, maybe they should give snowy a call, rumour has it he's sick of the travelling already he'd fit in well there

as for Malone wouldn't waste my time with him, although he could go ok in money sheild bashing up mediocre bowling attacks, old saying goes big fish in a small pond. Dont get me started on gutho the pond isn't big enough for both of them

Shannon Malone would be a great pick up. Played my junior career against Shannon and is a very good cricketer. Was mighty quick facing him in under 16s and although a fair time ago would imagine he would still be pacey. Has also made some big scores in Barclay Shield and could definately make alot of runs in Money Shield!

Interesting to see how that unfolds Nudie Run

along with creek, search have some of the most talented younger players coming through i.e Harrison, Barden, Meale so they could be very well up there

Id be upset to lose someone like Malone. With a few young players coming through at Research Malone is a quality all-rounder and only still young so still alot of improvement there! Will add a hell of a lot to the College chances in 2009/10. Gutto, Paine, Malone is a good bowling attack. Whether he has alot of cash coming his way or has mates at College or simply just wanted a change he's sure to have a good season in Money Shield and a great pick up by Eltham.

Is the Malone move confirmed? If so, massive loss for Research. Malone will destroy the bowling in Money Shield, hits the ball harder than anyone.

Definately not a done deal and sounds unlikely to happen

Settle down people! I spoke to Research President on the weekend, if Shannon plays this year it will be at search. As far as I know he was going o/s (could be there already). As for Tags, definately staying at search. On a seperate issue, saw the plans for clubroom re-development on the w/e, will be sensational. There will be an upper level social room as well as a balcony stretching out. I might just put away those come back plans!

Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours

Is there anywhere on the DVCA website to show all the clearnaces?

They had it a couple of years ago, cant find it now though?

Now that we are on MyCricket, i think you need to have your club admin login to access the required field.
Before the comp used to do the paperwork and update everything on an Excel spreadsheet whereas now all you need is to click a few buttons.

Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours

With the season not far off im sure most clubs would know who they have gained or lost any new on this front?

Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours

Strong rumour that last seasons captain coach of Lalor Stars has asked if he can exclusively play home games. 1sts one game, 2nds the next. Apparently the afternoon teas are going to be huge this year.
Stars will also unveil their newfound opening bowler. He has been bowling the house down at pre season. Apparently he can only play every second game though.

Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours

hot off the press boys, mernda dual premiership player Warrif steele has succumb to the prussure of snowy and will join his old mate at the basin 'money talks' was the quote. Got this from a very reliable source
can anyone from either mernda or the basin confirm??
can anyone confirm if Drummo from lalor stars has tied the knot in the off season?

He's not allowed out anymore so he might well have.
1 thing I never thought would have happened.
