Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Well, this is expected to be one of the biggest blowouts of the World Cup.

Bermuda DA Minors, CJ Smith, JJ Tucker, IH Romaine, OL Pitcher, DL Hemp, LOB Cann, S Mukuddem, DCC Borden, RDM Leverock, KAD Hurdle

Sri Lanka WU Tharanga, ST Jayasuriya, KC Sangakkara, DPMD Jayawardene, LPC Silva, TM Dilshan, M Muralitharan, WPUJC Vaas, RP Arnold, SL Malinga, MF Maharoof

Sri Lanka have won the toss and will bat first.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

That was the longest over ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14 deliveries from Kevin Hurdle.
6 no balls and 2 wides in one over!!!!

That's just unbelieveable stuff.

The match started 26 minutes ago, and it's 31-0 after only 3 overs!!

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Here's the first three overs according to cricinfo:

1nb . 1 . 2 1nb . . | . 2 . . . . | 5nb 2nb 1 1nb . 1wd 4 1 1wd 1 5nb 1nb 1nb .

Unbelieveable!

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Jayasuriya's finger is hurting him again.
He took a delivery on it in the first over, and there was a good 5-minute delay as they attended to it.

If it's troubling him again, he's going to have a tough time bowling today.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

A wicket!!!

Mukuddem gets Jayasuriya to hit it straight to Pitcher. It was hit hard, but right at him.

Sri Lanka 62-1 after 8.3

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

65-1 after ten overs.

A good few overs for Mukuddem and Janeiro Tucker, not a lot of runs.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Hurdle choked in the first few overs. I hope he's got his act together now that he's bought back into the attack. I'm sure the coach gave him some choice words

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Looks like he's got his act together, he gets a wicket!!!

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka 108-2 after 20

That's not a terrible effort from the Bermudan bowlers. Hurdle has looked quite a bit better in his second spell, though his most recent over had some more troubling control issues.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Jayawardene and Sangakkara moving along comfortably here,

Sri Lanka 193-2 after 34

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Sangakkara gone for 76

228-3 after 37.3

Sri Lanka have picked up the pace in the last 5 or so overs though, and there should be lots from runs fro the final 10.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Great diving catch by Hurdle out by the boundary to dismiss Jayawardene for 87

267-4 after 42.1

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka finish 321-6

Jayawardene and Sangakkara led the way with 85 and 76, abd Chamara Silva had a very nice 55 not out at the end there.

This is going to be an impossible total for Bermuda to chase down. They have never faced bowlers the likes of Malinga, Vaas, or Murali. And frankly, they might not even get to Murali. I think Malinga might shock quite a few of them right off the bat.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Yes it's certainly going to be tough for them to chase. The only they need to do is bat out the whole 50 overs and don't give their wickets away too easy and also make the most of the singles. If they can apply all three then at least we could put up a decent total.

I think the fielding was very good in the first from the Bermudians, apart from the missed catches, i think they applied themselves well.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Having just said the above, Bermuda loses their first wicket :(

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

20/3
not good, not good!!!
their making the same ole mistakes

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Bermuda 24-4 after 8.

Malinga took 2 in that over. He would've had a hat trick, but the umpire turned down an lbw appeal that was very close to being out.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

Maharoof gets 2 in his first over!

29-6

Minors was a little unhappy to go there, but I thought I heard a tiny sound on the replay.

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

I hate to say this but this game is shaping up to be a loss worst than the England warmup match. arggghhh!

Re: Group B - Bermuda v Sri Lanka

That was a beautiful six from Lionel Cann. The biggest one i've seen so far.
59/7. I would love to see them get at least 100 runs
