India v England: Champions Trophy

The main part of the competition gets underway with a marquee matchup. India should be the favorites, playing at home and considering how poor England have looked lately.

Let's hope this match turns out to be closer than yesterday's debacle.

Flintoff to bat at No 3

Pathan poses a dilemma

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Bell and Flintoff both out lbw early.

England 11-2 after 6 overs.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Flintoff didn't have a chance. A touch of controversy about Bell's ouster, however.

And there's another one!! England now 3/17, as Yardy is out! Looks like a LBW there...

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Pathan gets Strauss to edge it to Dravid, another one gone.

England 27-4 after 12.1 overs, and unless they get a partnership going here, they're in danger of pulling off a repeat of the West Indies performance yesterday.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

104-5 after 30

good partnership from Dalrymple and Collingwood

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

jinxed 'im!

Collingwood gone for 38
England 104-6

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Another one departs. Read out for 2.

England are 7/119 after 34.1 overs. Dalrymple on 22, Mahmood on 8.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Nice catch by Harbhajan. I thought he was going to step over the rope, but he managed to stop just inches short of it.

England 119-8.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Interesting run out from Powar there at the end, just helping the ball back onto the stumps.

England all out for 125

I don't think India will have too much trouble with a target of 126. They're going to have about 10 overs before the lunch break I think.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Wow, crazy over from Harmison here.
15 runs so far, but he gets Sehwag.

India 18-1 after 1.3. And he's still got half an over to go.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Some quality bowling from England. The score resembles an indoor cricket scoreline, not outdoor cricket.

India are 1/45 after 4 overs. Tendulkar on 14, Pathan 10.

Last 3 overs have gone for 42.

Over 2, Harmison: 5wd 4 wd 4 wd X 1 4 .
Over 3, Anderson: 4 . wd 1 4 4 .
Over 4, Harmison: 4lb 4 . . . .

Last part of Over 4 was a lot better from Harmison.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

India need 70 runs from 43 overs, 50-1. i thought Anderson just had a LBW, but it wasn't called, does anyone know why? India's batting is very confident at the moment.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

India 72-3 at 10.4 overs, very cool and odd as its the Festival of Lights going on currently in India, and there's a massive firework show going on outside the stadium. there also seems to be a bit of fireworks coming from England as they have grabbed 2 wickets from this over.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

What a crazy over! 2 wickets, a boundary, and a ton of fireworks from outside the ground.

Very nice fireworks, by the way.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

India 112/4.
They only need 14 more runs, but the runs have slowed down.

Re: India v England: Champions Trophy

Dhoni got impatient and went for a big swing, and flew out to Collingwood instead. Two balls later, Dalrymple picked up the second wicket of the over when he bowled Raina.

It is now 119/6.
This hasn't exactly been a breeze for India.
