Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Basically a must win for either team if they wish to challenge South Africa for the fourth spot.

Bangladesh is feeling confident after downing South Africa, evident by Habibul Bashar aiming for the semifinals as a goal for his side.

Should be a good match. Also its easy to see who i'll be rooting for. :D

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

England: Ian Bell, Michael Vaughan (C), Andrew Strauss, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Ravinder Bopara, Paul Nixon (W), Sajid Mahmood, Monty Panesar, James Anderson

Bangladesh: Shahriar Nafees, Tamim Iqbal, Habibul Bashar (C), Saqibul Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed, Mushfiqur Rahim (W), Mohammad Rafiq, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Syed Rasel

Iqbal starts off with two boundaries in the first over and then gets caught in the second over. Retarded.

9/1 at 1.5 - Nafees and Bashar is the partnership now.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

40/4 after 11 overs after Rahim gets bowled by Flintoff. A nightmare for Bangladesh. Nightmare.

England bowling very well.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

77-6 after 18

This is crazy. Sad to see Nafees blow his chance as he got back in the team, but then again, everyone else did too.
Saqibul is the only one putting up a fight today.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Saqib Hasan is the only one putting up runs. Him and Mortaza are clinging on for dear life.

102/6 after 26 overs ... Saqibul with 41 of them.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Mortaza finally out

112-7 after 29

that was a good partnership though, 13.4 overs!

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Rafique out for a duck

113-8 after 30.4

Time for Saqibul to start swinging for sixes here, because the last 2 batsmen won't be able to last the full 50 overs with him.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Yet another pathetic effort by Bangladesh. Their problem is that they have no consistency, beating India once week and then losing to Australia by 10 wickets the next and then this debacle.

The pitch surely couldn't be that bad to bat on.

Saqibal Hasan has been the standout so far, he is undefeated on 54 and has Abdur Razzak for support who is there on 11 not out. Saqibul is showing his team-mates what they should have done earlier.

Anderson, Mahmood and Panesar all have two wickets for England in what has been a very good bowling performance from them so far.

Bangladesh are currently 8/132 in the 36th over.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Just as I speak, Bangladesh lose another wicket. Razzak out to Panesar for 11. Syed Rasel is the last man to the crease with Saqibul still there on 57.

And Rasel hits the first ball he faces for 4.

9/143 in the 38th over.

And just as I speak again, Rasel is caught by Flintoff off the bowling of Mahmood.

I must have caught something from Marlyminks or Diamond Joe Quimby. :D

Bagladesh bowled out for 143 from 37.2 overs.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Saqibul impressive with an unbeaten 57, but that's about it for Bangladesh.

England bowled them out just a few minutes too soon, so now they have to bat before lunch.

It would be nice to see England's openers fall as usual, just to make this match slightly interesting.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

England 7-0 after 3 overs, but both Vaughan and Bell are on 0 so far. The runs have come from leg byes and wides.

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

Aftab makes a good diving catch, Bell gone for a duck!!

7-1

Re: Super 8s - Bangladesh vs. England

lunch break, England 21-1 after 6 overs

Vaughan was dropped by the keeper in that last over. That would have been a huge boost going into lunch if Mushfiqur could have held on to it.
