Re: the best u/21 players in the wdca

Scott Mills has moved on to North Melbourne Cricket Club. What teams will make up the 17A's this year in the WDCA? Im thinkin the same as last year.

dunno but digman might struggle for a side didnt have 15's last year i think.....i might be wrong.....

willy,wezza,wezza cntrls,altona,altona nth,hoppers,digman???,yarra club,lavo,spotty???.......did i forget any 1???

Re: the best u/21 players in the wdca

Willy
Wezza
Centrals
Altona
Altona Nth
Hoppers
Yarravile Juniors
Yarraville Club
Spotty
Lavo

That will be the A's i think. Werribee Centrals might be favourites i think seeing as we have a good bunch of 15's coming up and becoz of the leftover players that won the 17B's last season. Spotty will come back up into A grade.

i dont see how you can say centrals will be favourites.........o thats right you are from there........a grade is a big step up and id say its a much different game than from having 2 or 3 good players in the b's.........where as there is probably 7 or 8 good players in the a's depending on who you play......

gee you should see willy's team this year gonna be hard not coaching them to their 3rd straight granny..........anyway..........

werribee will be right up their again fair side they have got most of the team last year were first year players..........

lavo will struggle

i recon altona will be the team to beat...........the side they will have this year won the granny underfeated in the a's 2 years ago in the 15's.....

Re: the best u/21 players in the wdca

Yarraville Juniors may be a force. They will pretty much have the same bowling lineup as last year which i thought was the best in the comp, they could win a few games off that.

If Scott Mills does stay at Lavo which is unlikely then watchout they will go oright.

yarra wont have that bowling line up this season........they finished 3rd last last year withy a pretty good bowling and batting attack.........the year before they finished on the bottom.......they wont be any good........

scott mills will be playing at willy in the 17's;)

Re: the best u/21 players in the wdca

Hows the juniors shapping up?,

We picked up another player from Newport Digman in the under 17, no idea on the ability, havent seen him play or train yet.

Should have around 14 for the under 17's and about the same for the under 15's. Played a few kids in a senior practice game against St Anthony's yesterday, few of them did really well.

Re: the best u/21 players in the wdca

Word is that Laverton will struggle to pull a under 17's side together this year. They lose about 6 players from last years team and there is not enough 15's to come up and fill the spots.

Spotty look strong. They will start in the B's and come up because last year they did not do enough to earn A grade qualification, they have some new talent and will push hard this year.

Noticed last season Lavo had a few junior kids in their turf sides. Should do well in A & B turf if they hold onto them.

Every one of there under 17's played seniors last year. Scott Mills in my opinion is one of the best under 21 players in the region if they lost him it would be a big loss.

yer everybody says he goes alright.....got found out against the quicker bowlers and the better batsmen of the 17a's last season.......against my team anyway.....pretty sure he was a first year player last season......if he has got what it takes my opinion is to get away from lavo and have a crack some where higher......what i seen of him at willy training last year he'd be pushing for the 2's but definate starter in the 3rd's.........and thats funny cause he played firsts at lavo........bryan lawry is the best young player at lavo......

spotty were good last year in the 15's so no reason they shouldnt go alright.....

i expect willy 17's to go backwards a little.........for a couple of years then be really strong again........

Re: the best u/21 players in the wdca

Any word on the fixures for the Juniors yet or what days they will be playing?

Heard a roumour that the West Metro comp under 17's & under 15's may rivert to playing Wednesday evenings due to lack of grounds...

Which probably will strenghen the comp particulary if Willi comp stay on Saturdays. I know we will pick up a couple of Yarraville Juniors for the u/15 who use to play for us in the Friday night under 13 grades last season. Though makes it tough for senior players in coaching roles, making 4 days of cricket in a week!
