Re: VTCA Thread

Heard today that Airport West have picked up another West Indian player with international experience. Apparently he's an opening bat and big possibility he will play this week. My source though didn't know his name.
Anyone else heard this?:)

Good to see the VTCA sticking to there guns about wet wickets!!

No wet wicket involved gents.......council curator put the covers back on the wicket after checking it....thought the wicket was not going to be played on....covers weren't removed by 8.30am, hence the points awarded.

Anyway just a free win for OEG.....considering they are hopeless...they will struggle to finish above 10 this season...and be back in contention for relegation by the end of round 4......only teams happy with that result are clubs vying for top 4 with Royal Park Brunswick, as they are little behind the eight ball to make the 4 at 1-2, compared 2-1.

Good old VTCA exec playing god.....esp for OEG......don't think this will be the last of these sort of situations, my sources tell me that the RPBCC boys will be out with their cameras and phones snapping away at 8.31am grounds with covers still on them and then protesting.

Note, RPBCC away games are all north, so checking grounds is the least of their concerns.

Could make for an interesting season.

Leave the Cricket to the players, just keep preparing our Teas and running drinks out for us. Oh yeah, there's dog ******** on my driveway that requires your expertise.
Simpson-you're up!

Perfect chance for an outright for you blokes on weekend and you didnt even bother , says a lot for your captaincy skills.Would of been sitting in the 4 but no......no wonder all the boys at the "Heights" are a much happier lot !
As for stats , no it's not just vtca. I only saw 3 cabs at seddon on saturday , good to see you blokes finally got the idea of car pooling!

Maybe the vtca will teach him the rules of cricket, ie:when a ball misses the batsman and keeper and goes for 4 , its 4 byes and not a dead ball..."because the batsman didnt offer a shot" came his reply.

The reforming of Hale and Pace?

Asif Jan.

Played at Druids a few years ago in their GF team and don't think their relationship ended on the best of terms.

Not sure whether he played internationals.

Worst umpire I've ever seen or had the chance to umpire with - the new guy who turned up at close to 1pm at a Druids home game about 7 years back and asked me if there was 8 balls in an over :D

Your best player is sub-continental you legend and a good friend of mine. Wonder if he knows what a RACIST you are? I'm sure your new "credible" coach has his hands full without you defacing AVONDALE HEIGHTS on-line. Think about the club before you make RACIST, DEROGATORY remarks because they affect all your players and officials! |@ I want the boys to be happy at Canning St. they were a great group to lead-dunno why you are trying to hold that against me???-I gave my best and got some decent results. If you were a player you'd know I had the clubs best interests at heart the entire time.

Re: VTCA Thread

I played at Avondale Heights the last 3 years.

Swazie did his best to bring some professionalism to the club but the majority of the players / club members would rather sink 10 cans instead of taking on his ideas.

There was no fitness there.

Not from a lack of Swazie/Chunk trying to get blokes to do a few drills BUT from the simple fact that after batting/bowling a large proportion of the players would simply walk off back to the clubrooms. And when we did do drills it would be nothing but blokes b***** and moaning about doing fielding drills.

President has spent around 20K a year trying to buy a flag - but to no avail.

No discipline....No Premierships.

I played juniors at Avondale Heights. I remember the stories of how my coach would sit down in the committee meetings and ask for better equipment because it was tattered and torn and all Tex and co. would say is "can we open the bar now?"

Great to see Leigh Shellie getting juniors coming through. But it still would be my last choice of club in the area and I only live 1km away.

Typical. Always gets the rub of the green & then always sooks up if given out early.

When are you going to get rid of that old fart Moose. You'll never improve whilst someone approaching 60 can get a game!!!!

coming into this week i was averaging over 50 with the bat so my club bats me at 10 in the 2's. so i have to come in and try and slog cos our number 11 is a donkey.
anyways
i was half blind but i think i saw that old guy from grammer "moose" (who i must say does look like don burke) he was walking down grey st in st kilda. good luck to him i say. 60 odd years old and after a hard day on the field going down to st kilda for no doubt a massage.
i was on my way to prince of wales.
i think i would trouble bakes with my leggies.
