Anyone Know Of Any Moves Or Signings For The 2011/12 Season???

Does anyone know of a club with more moves than Williamstown CYMS?

I can definitely confirm that Williamstown CYMS have been gutted by the below departures.

Danny Law & Syed Ali Hussain (both former First Class Players) have come to Keilor :) . These signings had absolutely nothing to do with Darrel.

Tarek Moughanie has left for 'Greener' pastures. wink wink

The 'rumour' is that CYMS were trying to short change them after implying certain amounts earlier.

Ian Blanchett (former County Cricketer) has been shown the door and has found a new door at Airport West.

David Alleyne (former Country Cricketer) did not 'fit' the fabric of the club and was not offered another season.

Andrew Walshe may not be able to bowl this season.

Andy Leetet has come out of retirement to be senior coach in D. Law's absence. With all those departures it may be easy to neglect the foreign signings coming over. Hopefully for their sake they can all bat, bowl and keep.

I'm sure that the above departures will merely give their 2nd teir players/kids opportunities.

As a young player at Keilor I am excited to learn about the above signings. We'll be back to Senior Division in no time.

Go Keilor!!!

Don't believe everything you hear. You have called yourself a "young player", so always keep this in mind. While I don't know "the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God", I have heard a different story from someone in the know at CY's. Looking at some stats from last season, not too much to hang your hat on imo. D.Law 147 runs and 15 wickets.

In fairness last season was a tough one to rack up the numbers due to all the weather interuptions

He scored 1000 runs over the previous 2 seasons (Senior and Senior A) which I think is a more accurate reflection of his ability

Agreed it was a tough season for everyone. My point is a) it didnt stop 39 other players scoring more runs than him last season and b) if anyone is on a year to year contract (I am not sure if he was??) surely you would take into consideration the performance from the most recent year when negotiating a new deal?

I am not doubting his ability in the past, all I am suggesting is his season last year was not up to what he or CY's would have been looking for. There are advantages and dis-advantages to having players sign a 1 year contract or multiple year contracts. And further to that, if a player agrees to a set $ amount for the season, or an incentive based can prove a massive difference in what they can earn. Case in point his 2 previous seasons. If he was on incentives, well he would have cleaned up!! Swings and round abouts..... But if a player does not like/want some sort of incentive based deal, you need to ask why??? Anyhow, enough talk on Danny. Surely there are other people who can contribute to cricket talk on here.....

Patcholi back to Yccc,Richardson playing coach of Caroline Springs and taking 3 or 4 with him apparently they will have turf wicket built next year with entering vtca the year after.

With over 80 teams now in the VTCA, what does this mean for the WDCA and other small local comps? We've already seen the MMVCA fold.

Have to agree. Think Danny is well past his best, his archilies is stuffed. Was only interested in base payments not incentives and didn't take up offers with a couple of Senior Division clubs. Much easier for a broken down hack in Nth Division, I would have thought.

Melb Cricket Club know nothing of Hodgey leaving.
He does live in Black Rock though - surely with a Vic Cricket Contract he'd continue doing what he's doing.

Bentleigh has supposebly signed ex saint kilda player Adam Ryan as captain coach.
Spotswood has signed Dickinson from Carlton.

Didn't think so. Apparently we offered him $90k for one year. Love the rumours. Sheedy is staying at Willi. Spotty have done well with dickinson. Quality bowler!!!!!

G
ahh...lifes good when the pot is still full.

wish the the pot at tulla was as big as yours. would have been good if law had have gone to apw because we wouldnt have to play against him.

Good luck against Danny if it's 5:45 and he has to bowl 5 overs till the end of the day and it's getting a bit hard to see. The achilles wont twinge a bit. THUNDERBOLTS!!!!
