Senior Division 2011/2012

You are a goose , waterlogged, thats between your ears
Personal attacks again Sledge doesnt really deflect the attention with most

We all understand there is always going to be issues of wet tables as covers rarely cover the entire block at a local level however the actual wicket was soaked on one side and had wet circles on the other when a team needed 2 wickets. That happened sometime after the wicket was meant to be compulsory covered. You and the club may think youve done a great job in dodging a certain bullet but that kind of effort after speaks volumes about your club to most. Pity you didnt want it that bad last week

The pitch was covered on thursday and was lifted by council curators on Friday . They discovered 3 wet patches from holes in the covers which were not there the week before. Also there was damage to the wicket table from dogs which might have caused the holes. I have been told that the club will be buying new covers in the next week. I would also like to know why there was no play at your ground as well with SCCC in a good position for a win.

O'Keefe was outstanding against a very solid attack. Seems to get better with age. YCCC are still the team to beat. Bentleigh's ground and scoreboard are superb.

heard a rumour that there is a photograpgh taken by one of the greenvale team who travelled over very early. The photo shows South Caulfield players/officials, throwing water under the covers. If thats true surely they have to be relegated?

YC chase looked comprehensive. O'Keefe continuing to show why he is one of the premier batsmen in the comp. Rain already affecting results could make for another interesting season.

That is possibly the stupidest post I have ever read on here, and that's saying something.

Bentleigh for the first time in years has a decent curator. The decks have been very good so far this season, and that is the final piece in the puzzle for the Bentleigh Rec Reserve, easily one of the best facilties in the comp now.

Yarraville were impressive, Bentleigh didn't bowl well, but you can't take credit from YCCC, O'keeffe was outstanding.
Chris Street only bowling 5 overs was unusual.

The curator is the same one who did the Grand Final pitch at Murrumbeena last year, hopefully he gets an award this year as he deserved something for last year, but it always seems to go to school ovals.
Maybe there should be 3 awards with one being school ovals, Council and club ovals.

well it makes sense that he be plying his trade at Bentleigh where Senior Division cricket is played, as opposed to Murrumbeena down in South A or B or where ever they play.

The curator who worked for Murrumbeena and Bentleigh is there no longer and under suspicious circumstances I've been told. From what I'm led to believe both teams have new curators. That would make it 4 in 3 years I think which is strange as they have always done a decent job.

The Bentleigh curator from last year is at South Caulfield and the one from last years grand final at Murrumbeena is now at Bentleigh.

Wasnt Bentleigh in South A a couple of seasons ago? Are you saying curators should jump ship based on the grade the club is playing?
The council assigns what grounds the curators work on for the season. So I doubt a curator could "jump ship" even if he wanted to. I'm sure the VTCA is happy that one of their Senior Division grounds has a decent curator now, as would all of the visiting clubs and Bentleigh themselves.
You can argue that the higher standard you play, you should expect better wickets prepared.

Big wraps on those two and if they continue the way they are going RPB will be a danger to all.

Any truth to the rumour they can't play the GF? Airport West have a PNG boy as well, took 4 on the weekend. Add to Amini's efforts 2 years back (400 odd runs) and they look an absolute goldmine.

Great work from RPB, demoralising for McKinnon to take 1 wicket in 80 overs on Saturday. Young side who will have their share of ups and downs, but they are on the right track and are still second!

Greenvale continue to surprise, Jeremy Brown is a jet but his mate from Eaglehawk (Jacobs) could be just as important. To think they rolled a strong Beauy side without Moughanie bowling. Beauy desperately need Beshara and Cockbain back in a hurry, but I don't think either are back until Xmas.

South Caulfield struggling, still no batting scores up for them for the past 2 weeks, dissapointing for a Senior Div club not to put their player scores up from a match 4 weeks ago. Gives us all an indication of who is playing and who isn't.

Certainly Willy CY will be struggling to avoid relegation with the playing stocks they have, but I'd never write South Caulfield off as I dont think theyve been relegated for a long while?

Anyway, game on for the challengers to the green tracksuits.

SCCC have never been relegated and are the longest serving team in Senior
