Will India be competiive in this series as they have bombed out in the test series and will Sri Lanka give Australia a fight and how will Jayawardene go as the new captain of Sri Lanka.
 
In the first game out west India chased down Sri Lanka's total fairly comfortably in the end.

37 degrees today in Perth Australia batting first, Warner looking ominous early, reckon he might be in for another big one at the WACA today.

edit - the in form Wade falls caught behind for only 1.
 
A pretty ordinary looking scorecard for Australia, lots of wasted starts, going to have to bowl really well tonight.
 
WOW another horrid half effort from the aussies again. Boy they need to have a deep look into where they are.
 
Pretty lacklustre effort by the Aussies. It is a very inexperienced team who are not gelling that well yet. Considering that these two teams made it to the World Cup final, it's bound to be a really competitive series.

I wouldn't say that we have outstanding talent at present in batting terms, but then we are all aware of that.
 
Australia were just poor with the bat, at least it was a good result to keep the triangular competition interesting though I guess.

I have just watched the Indian cricket team demonstrate why they are easily the NO:1 international team for bad sportsmanship. They really carry on and at the moment they have little to carry on about.
 
Nice composed 104 from Forrest, Clarke also in form, surprising to see him going over the top a bit this arvo as well.

Warner better go on to make a ton after the brainmelt to run Mike Hussey out.
 
Looks like India's chances of getting a BP and getting into the finals are screwed now with Sri Lanka smashing 320.. It's either going to be an extremely exciting or extremely dull run chase.
 
India 2 for 162 off 20 only overs :eek: I think if they knock the remaining 159 off within 40 overs they get the bonus point.
 
lol SL must be getting absolutely hammered out there, India now need 73 off 51 balls with only 3 wickets down.
 
F***, they chased 321 off only 36.4 overs :eek::eek: Spewin it wasn't on tv out here, might have to watch the replay on Fox later.

Then he struck back. Anyone notice how the SriLankians look fit sleek and ready for the game where the Indians look overweight old and tired. Makes you wonder where the strength of the will be over the next few years.
 
And the Sri Lankans have qualified. Great match last night, Malinga was on fire and Kulsakara bowled well. Great fielding too, I'm happy for SL, they deserve it and they really wanted to win. We couldn't always call the Indians as hungry for a win :D
