Eca 2012/13

The blokes who played with Stallworthy at Hawthorn thought he was a flog so he went to Casey, the home of the shit district cricketer. He has made 351 runs this year at 35, hardly world beating stuff, but not too bad. His bowling is ordinary at best yet he persists with it. He is a tool of the highest order on the ground.

They recruited a highly touted POM, Daniel Newton, who can't bat and has flogged right up during his time there. In his 5 bats against the 5 top sides, he's made 22, 16, 4, 16 & 2. Money well spent there.

Bowen is disappointing. The 2 games I've seen him in, he's bowled quickly for 5 minutes before he's died and he's thrown it away with the bat. I've heard he's a good bloke, but I've not spoken to him, so I'll let others judge. This year he's averaged 15 with the bat and 30 with the ball.

I'm not a fan of sticking the boots into guys, but they really deserve it. If you're going to rock up in stupid clothes, clap incessantly during the game and be led by a flog, you need to be a lot more productive on the field than they have been.

In Borings defence, they probably know they don't have the talent they need to succeed and be competitive in Dunstan, hence the incessant appealing and cheering which more often that not, dies down very quickly from them because they don't have the skill or talent to challenge the top teams.

The easiest thing you can do on a cricket field, which doesn't require any skill at all, is talk, encourage and be positive to try and help your team.

I have no doubt that Boronia often take it over the top and step over the line with their sledging and talking, but lets be honest, if you know you don't have the cattle, the little things can sometimes help.

G Turf - Eric Raven

I think Surrey Park will get a higher grade final, and Eric Raven should not get a final, ever

Donvale is continuing to excel with their table and their ground, is a pity they are stuck in A-turf...

OK, so the results as I see them are:
Mully to beat Surrey
Boronia to beat NB
MA to beat Skevs
Haw to beat Deep
Marc to beat ED
Ashy to beat GI

So the ladder after this will be:
MA 54
GI 46
Ashy 42
Haw 42
---------------
Mully 42
Skevs 30
Deep 24
Marc 21
SH 18
NB 15
ED 15
Boronia 15

Big race to the bottom with 10 points to Boronia almost guaranteeing their survival. Come on NB!!!!!!!!!

Is good to see that (pending results) a home final is still up for grabs for 4 teams! If SKOB get the 8 runs they need this week and there is a no result, it throws the top 4 open again.

I am tipping NB will do enough to hold off an outright and Boring will still go down.

Unfortunately for the bottom teams, they are all playing top teams in the last round.

Donvale the Standout - a credit to their curator & council

Agree with Max and Paintball ..... surrey to get a higher grade fighting for A-turf with Ashburton . Mulgrave to get C turf ..... its a raffle from there .

Its a shame the school grounds arnt available for finals ..... Carey / Marcellin / SKEVS ........ absolutley magnificent decks and outfield.

Im sticking with my orginal tips
- surrey to get the runs - Perera is overdue for a BIG one
- Boronia to win BUT no outright ..... the Bulls will toughen up in the second dig.
- MA v SKEVS ...... can we tip a tie ? for the bonus point
- Hawks to beat Deep
- ED .... think they can also get the runs required on a good deck
- Ashy to win in the battle of the chequebooks ... Bonuses all round !

Think Ashy might end up with the Dunstan final; ECA won't want to be seen favouring Donvale by giving them all the revenue generating matches (T20 semi's and final, Dunstan final etc). Ashburton making a Dunstan final could throw that into disarray though - when do the ECA confirm GF venues?

Near certain Bulleen will be home of Dunstan Final.

Ashburton will have A Grade GF

Don't reckon Surrey will get higher than D or E ground but outfield was terrible when I was there a month or so back

Stradbroke not an option, deck pretty unreliable there unless you're a fan of early over grubbers. GI should not get a GF, too much risk of balls in the creek..

Donvale gets Dunstan for sure, Koonung should get A, guess for the rest....

B - Mont Albert
C - Ashburton
D - Mulgrave
e Surrey
F Nth Balwyn
G Burwood

Stallworthy might have played 4 games with Casey before leaving to avoid making 5 scores below 5 in a row.

The home of the shit district cricketer is more likely to be where he came from. Casey's form in recent years has been 4th, 4th, 11th and currently a game out of the eight after beating Hawthorn outright by 10 wickets

And I see everyone's favourite Burwood cricketer was in the 2's recently. Fall from grace.
