Senior Division 13/14

I would say a combo of both. Judging by the scores in Round 1 where Bentleigh 2nds scored 3-181 in 40 overs only to be knocked off by Keilors 5-198, the wicket must be a decent one. Outfield is pretty quick as well from what I hear.
Greenvales strength is in their batting and not necessarily their bowling, so Bentleigh will need everyone of the 290 they scored on Saturday.

Yeh wow. 8/381 is staggering. 80 overs is a long time, so I think the low scores we regularly see in the VTCA is at the least somewhat odd, but 381 is a monster score from Greenvale. Rest of the comp, watch out.

Huge game this week Beau v Bentleigh - if beau lose would be very hard to go 0-3 and make the 4.

22 wickets for 1050 runs in 240 overs at Bentleigh so far this season.
Yep, I'm tipping a good deck down there at Arthur Street.

That's not even a good deck though. That's just an out-and-out road. Not much fun bowling on that.

Very difficult to come from that far back, be a big step backwards for Beaumaris in this division

Strange that they let OMs do that, think a lot more clubs would be pushing for their seconds teams to play closer to home

What the hell is going on with Senior Div this year, 2 more monster scores this week with the Clubbers 6-383 and South Caulfield 4-409. Bit stiff to declare before the opener could have a crack at getting to 300 really

He had slipped and strained a groin and Keilor had 7 on the fence, so 300 would have been tough

May end up costing them an outright though by not declaring after 65 overs with 350 on the board...

255 is a great score for a team, and for some players, a good season with the bat. For a bloke to score 255 in a day is incredible, to do it in Senior Division, even against Keilor who are clearly rebuilding through kids, is phenomenal. Without sounding disrespectful, there are a number of Sri Lankan players, all with First Class experience, around the league in the North and the South. What makes this guy so special?

Basically just - His hunger. Both our Sri lankans have been at here for the start of pre season the last 2 years. They attend all team funtions and even drink with all the lads. They have fitted into the club culture from day 1.. Which means once game day comes the only think Mass is worried about is cricket..
The Princes Park on Saturday wicket was a belter and a fast outfield meant that anything that pierced the field went to the boundary..

What a difference a week makes.
Last Saturday there were pristine perfect conditions for batting, with some big scores posted.
Tomorrows forecast is for rain, cloudy and a top of 17.
Not ideal for chasing down some of the scores posted last Saturday.
Perhaps the rain might save the bacon of a few teams.

So there might be a few green tops instead of the usual roads we see in this comp, give the bowlers a chance for a change instead of making games into drab grind-fests for the batsmen.
