North A And B

So was the wicket shit week one when you bowled? If so why didnt you call the game off because it was dangerous for TL.

Sounds like sour grapes after being 8 for shit all.
Ill tell you what it sound like....It sound like you wouldn't know if i was up you. The pitch was shit both weeks but twice a shit the second week what does that sound like.....

Wicket was terrible both weeks look at scores. It's terrible that we have suffered two injuries. The curator had judy of care and think he failed with the state of the wicket that was produced for this game with top two playing each other. With north a having 4 sides so close on points it's just shame we have match that's under investigation . Look I'm lost for words how this happend but would love to hear form curator his reason to water a wicket and cover it all week ???

Yeah went to play pull shot hit on cheekbone which broken and on his fall couldn't brace and foot was stuck due to a wet wicket and broke both bones in his leg very sad .dry a wicket he might not done some much damage to his leg like the wicket shouldn't never been wet to start with .

Gotta love big cricket!!
Everyone jumps on gives their first hand account of how much water was put on the wicket and how long the covers were on for it just amazes me. I find it interesting that in the 13 odd overs that were bowled on the second week there wasn't a single dint or mark on the wicket which tells me that the wicket wasn't wet at all!! The indifferent bounce was caused by two different kinds of grass on the wicket ( rye and couch) which can't be cut at the same height which explains the variable bounce. Sorry to get a bit technical on you all but some factual points need to be put up so the hysterical roosters fans/players/committee don't bamboozle us all with half truths and it some cases blatent lies!!
The other point that has been brought up earlier was the lack of concern about the wicket during the first days play when roosters won the toss and bowled!! There was certainly no concern when Taylors Lakes were bowled out for 140 odd!! There was actually claims of six points in the bag and top spot is ours coming out of their change rooms which was very surprising!! There was laughter when the roosters players got to the ground the second week to see the ground had been cut twice as short than the previous week.
The only time concern about the wicket crept into the game was when their two batsmen that were not out overnight were dismissed playing hero shots across the line and the other batsmen taking on a legitimate bouncer without a helmet on and unfortunately being seriously hurt. Given that they were now 7 down still needing 90odd seems to me that the only unsportsmanlike behavior came from the roosters president who overruled his captain and the umpire in a last ditch effort to get 3 points plus bonus points instead of nothing at all!!!

Big cricket lover !!!
Form Taylor's lakes obviously I'm from the rooster wasent at the game just working on the feed back !!! Few good points you bring up mate the wicket was terrible both weeks is freed back I got from our boys and notice you guys did well to get to 140 odd . So the wicket wasent wet at all then I take and it just terrible as week before . Just dosent add all up that two bloke serious injured . Apparently the game was suppose go on with spinners only cause umpire had felt that wicket was in unsafe. Don't think fair for both side to continue to play with that option . Good to see the game called off player safety has be number 1 and maybe umpire should be concerned first week as well as the my feed back was the wicket was not great the first week . Anyways it's done now hopefully we can move on look forward to last few games in tight division and talk about indivalual and team performances instead safety of wickets and shit like that . Think vtca are looking into let them make decision and move on and talk about good cricket performances and see who will end up in the top 4

Keep banging on about "Safety of the Wicket".
Is the president of Roosters going to enforce all his players to wear a helmet? Where is the duty of care on his behalf.
Might want a lid on facing John Taylor this week.

Cricket leaks would love to see how u guys would respond if table was turned if you were in our postion. Look from both sides point of View . Lot players don't wear helmets for many reasons . Wouldn't thought we would have much dramas at our deck about facing talor with this weather no excuse to have a wet wicket !!!!

Doctoring wickets week 2 is one of the worst things in cricket, however in this case the wicket was actually better week 2, (obviously still shit, but better).

You dont get any sympathy from me because:
A - your captain agreed to play week one. He clearly thougth the wicket was ordinary week 1 because he chose to bowl. Why didnt he say his not playing and play a one dayer week 2 when its the same for both sides. Both captains have to agree for play to start.
B - the bloke walked out without a helmet. He got hit in the head. His fault.
C - Last i checked it was captains and umpires that decide if a game stops, not committee members. Interesting to see what the VTCA does with this. Next time a side is 8 for shit all on a dodgy deck look out for the canteen lady to walk out and call the game off.

if the above 3 situations had been different, then trust me id be on your side.

The umpire choose to ca the game off . The umpire didn't handle the situation at all he had concerns all day about the wicket and then that happened and umpire came with decision both side pleaded the case as you should and the game was called off think that right out come. Yes batsman should wear helmet but it is optional but the question hasent been answered why was the wicket wet ???? Look their many factors and we should not taken the field from the start of play to wicket was dryer but at end of day two retired hurt batsman with serious injuries you have question the wicket and safety of the wicket injuries happen on both days ... We should not have waited till 7for or 8for ******** all but we didn't I can't change that but end of day I don't think our side was given fair chance to win game because the wicket 2nd week was wet I can cop a wet wicket if rain all week but simple fact it didn't abd we had 30 degrees all week call us sook but wake up look all the facts . Yeah my club shouldn't waited till we were 7-8 down but we should t turned up to wet wicket abd the umpire had doubt safety of wicket abd waited to serious injury to call game off .

Only made 140 odd and soaked the wicket and didn't get the result I think I know who the sour grapes are

Didnt answer the question ?? Wasnt 1 of the roosters so called bats retired hurt week 1 in the same conditions you had rolled Taylors Lakes cheaply ?

One player was injured first week my point of view the wicket was up to standard for both sides mate I don't care about the result for match that has lot importance where both sides where on the ladder that wicket wasn't good enough I would have the same concern if scores where the other way round . The umpire who aloud the game to go ahead abd the curator have explaining to do just my thought on situation

Agree totally about moving on and letting the vtca

As you mentioned earlier Moona you weren't at the game and the people that are giving you the feedback that you say you are working off aren't telling you the truth.
Firstly the wicket wasn't wet so you should stop saying that. Whoever told you that obviously wants you to jump on here and try and convince somebody in the cricket world that the wicket was tampered with when unfortunately for you and your club it's just not true. It wasn't a great wicket that's not in dispute it just had inconsistent bounce which is no different to a lot of vtca wickets in all grades.
Secondly whoever told you the umpire had called it off is also lying to you. The umpire was standing behind the stumps with the taylors lakes players in their positions waiting for the roosters batsmen to face up. It was at this time your president called a premature end to the game!!
No problem that you want to fly the flag for your club but it has to be factual!!

Yeah I was not at the game. But my sources are honest and trustworthy as they come and wouldn't make stuff up for sake of it. My concern was the wicket and how it was pre pared for day 2 something happened in my opinion . Grounds I have played on in this grade we have played on good quality wickets by sounds this game we were played on wicket not up to north a good quality wickets should be played on each week. Look I believe umpire did go backin position and president did call end to the game due to care of the players which is only normal to defend look after ur side . The umpire agree with our reason to have game abandoned and wanted the vtca investigate the situation obviously umpire told ur club and players and different which put both clubs in position defend each other stories and back and fourth it's just shame with the situation we are in on both sides . I see ur point being so close to a fantastic victory and of course with feedback form quality sources that where their I will defend my club it's only natural . Just hope fair result happens for both parties after what happened from weekend just wish we could had belter of wicket for clash and congratulate the best side over the two days crixket just the looser of the game .... Don't want to talk anymore about it after This post but my opinion may be way wrong but it's opinion maybe the curator didn't put same amount time in the 2nd week their few things don't add up that's .... I played against ur 2nds on weeks thought great bunch guys and some quality players thought game was good game apart from
The result we got smashed but that's the way it goes . Hopefully we talk about fantastic finish to season with finals spots up for grabs and great performances by individuals

Guys fact of the matter is the Pitch at Lionheart reserve is terrible and is not conducive for good cricket for yourselves and other clubs. I don't know how you can recruit quality batsmen to your club based on that deck. Low scores out of Lionheart oval all year. Demon bowlers??? Hmmmm.
Im told your a cashed up club my advise is spend some money on a good curator provide quality pitches to your members. Spend some good coin on a curator over the next 3-4 years this can enhance your junior and secondary players more than cash outlays for senior players.
We should all be trying to play the best standard of cricket possible.

Why don't u all shut up and let the VTCA handle it, your just all going around in circles
Fair enough Sledge i thought freedom of speech was a right not a privilege.
More than happy to abide by the VTCA decision.
I thought it would be good for people to know the goings on so no one needs to go thru this again.
Consider it a lessons learnt exercise.
Bye.
