2015/2016 Money Shield Thread

45+ kids enrolled in Milo Cricket. 60+ Kids enrolled in T20 Blast. One of only 4 T20 Blast centres in the Diamond Valley. Tripled Junior numbers year on year. U16's lost their semi final by 14 runs to the top side. Healthy finances off the field and a profit for the 2015/2016 season. If that sounds like "Trouble", I reckon there would be a lot of clubs that would love to be in "Trouble"!!!

Well said Cory

all credit to greensborough , they could have done what alot of clubs would do and go out and throw money at players just to try and stay up but instead decide to rebuild with in .

Wow it's good to see they have won the sympathy vote! But to be clear, by their own admission, Greensborough took their eye off the ball. This wasn't a policy change, and money was thrown at the problem but they left their run way too late. Good on Cory for helping out but it's going to take a long time to fix this

What money was thrown at the problem this season? Clubs need to be very careful accusing other clubs of throwing money at problems. There are plenty of clubs out there with big cheque books trying to buy success. Just for the record, Greensborough didn't pay a single player in the 2015/2016 season. Not one. How many clubs can say that?

Probably not many others, but regardless, yours finished stone, motherless last in the top grade and were uncompetitive in every other grade. Hardly something to hang your hat on.

How much do you think that Plenty, Mernda, Bundoora United, Mill Park, Camrea and Hurstbridge collectively spent on players this season? All 6 clubs were relegated regardless. We're not hanging our hat on anything. The club has reset and made a choice to build from within. The situation the club finds itself in is a result of decisions made 3-5 years ago. The decisions being made now, won't have an impact for another 3-5 years. Regardless of this, decisions need to be made and medicine has to be taken. There are plenty of clubs that spent big money this year to not get relegated. Where do you think that will leave them in the years to come?

Stars and Panthers lose semis two years running. Ouch

It's 3 on the trot for Stars, all of them at home too..........

Capable of beating half the Barclay sides on their day, got proven match winners with both bat and ball, should surely have made it to the GF a couple of times.
