Cricket Albury/wodonga 16/17

we thought alex popko was on alot of money when he gets paid 7000$ a year to play at albury. but now east albury are paying dylan weeding 15000$ for two years of coaching. this is rediculous. why would any club pay money for cricket?

Any idea on player payments at the Nest Mick? What would a reasonable amount be for a Club Coach?

we do have insentives for all of our players like 50$ for 50s and 100$ for 100s etc. i can only guess that a couple of our higher profiled recruits over the last 3-4 years may get paid but i dont no. the coaching position would be paid but i would be very surprised if it was anywhere near 15000$

I know you're sources are very reliable & you're never wrong, but I don't think East Albury would offer that kind of money? Especially to a first year coach.

Have any teams started training yet?

And just to get a few talking, who are the top 5 players in the competition?

Thoughts on the new format. I think it will be a good test of team depth, especially considering there would be a lot of teams who haven't played T20 cricket let alone one day cricket for a fair while. Pink balls for T20's (good call?) and white balls for one day games, return of coloured team kits. Shaping up as a cracking season.

Belviors Irish import looks to be the goods, surely they'll start the season as flag favorites?
New city's Jack Thomas playing at St Pats

I think it looks to be a great format. Very exciting for cricket Albury Wodonga

Gee it looks like year of the import. I wonder if every team will end up having one or maybe 2? Maybe CAW could a international v locals T20 game for a fundraiser?
Well done to Barny on getting a coach.
Ok was just me or did I read something different in regards to Holt at Belvoir? Sounded like he was coming back but not to them? Maybe another club ?
Hearing Raiders are doing plenty of work off the field lets hope it turns on the field as well.

All these imports are really good for the competition, i wonder how the rep side is going to be picked cos you could nearly just pick all imports to represent the comp. id like to start the debate about the imports, is it worth having them. personally i say yes. our pom last year was an awesome guy and fittedf into the club great. but is it worth the money to bring them over if there is no prize money?

For me the cost of getting players out here levels itself out after the amount a local players who have been playing over in the UK the past couple of season as a result of the imports at clubs recently. Guys gaining experiences playing over there surely makes our comp stronger?

I agree stumps flying, surely everyone would improve by playing with and againts the imports, i no i learnt alot from jack holt by just watching him bat and bowl in the nets. nodoubt all our senior cricketers learnt from him. and by our guys going over and playing over there is going to make us and the comp better. my question is a money one tho. is it worth 4000 minimum on flights then paying them a 300 weekly wage to increase the playing group a little bit? im not saying not to have imports. but i wonder what tallangatta and albury and east albury would be paying for all there imports expecially when popko was getting 7000 and weeding is supposed to be getting 15000 over 2 years!
