Pace bowling

My son is 11years and he has genuine pace, the indoor cricket Arena measured his speed at 125km/h, does this mean that he could possibly reach a speed of 140 to 150km/h at the age of 16 years? I attached a file of a video I took a little over a month ago

Hi Clinton,

Your son has a very good, strong action and has great pace for his age. I could not see the run up but I always love to see a side on action; he can certainly work on the pace. He lands solid and turns quickly; giving him excellent hip thrust. Trunk extension is lovely and he has a stable, braced front leg, which he pivots over nicely. There is a little blip in the follow through but I am sure that will be worked on.

However, the question you ask is impossible to answer. A lot can change between now and 16.

A person's physical development does not necessarily follow a linear progression and during growth spurts, barriers to movement can often (but not always) develop, causing injuries... and, of course, growth spurts are not necessarily guaranteed!

The only thing your son can do is work intelligently on his action and pace; concentrate on the processes whilst having fun, and see where that takes him.
