RIDDLES/BRAIN TEASERS 2

A wild stab. Jermaine Greer. Or Helen Reddy. Sounds like one of these women libbers from 70s/80s.

All those quotes just came from one person, a very pretty woman.
I only know of two women of our generation who were generally regarded as, and were themselves aware of, being a sex symbol: Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot. I don't know if they were so reflective as to make a series of quotes but if so, Marilyn may have been more likely to than Brigitte. So I'd go for her?

This woman was a very well know Actress in the US.

She told Einstein, with charming frankness: "You and I could have a child: I would date my beauty and your intelligence."

To which the father of relativity and the atomic bomb replied: "Maybe it comes out with my beauty and with your intelligence."

It was not yet known (the tests were done later), that her IQ was 165, five points above the "greatest genius of all time".

She was a great reader. She had a library in her house with about a thousand books. She spent many hours reading works of literature, poetry, theater, philosophy, because her spirit, in addition to her great desire to live, had insatiable curiosity and hunger for knowledge.

Well done Thomas. It was Marilyn Monroe!
She had an IQ of 165!

Marilyn would have had to come to terms with his personal hygiene, though. He was known for living like a bachelor in a spartan apartment wearing worn-out clothes, researched obsessively whenever he wanted, played the violin with a passion and visited his cousin Elsa whenever he felt like it. She prescribed him a toothbrush, comb, and soap - to no avail. “If I am so unappetising to you, then why don't you find a friend who is more palatable to female tastes? Your honestly dirty Albert,” Einstein wrote to her.

It's a no no, sorry Craig.
I've always loved Helen Reddy tho, and Aussie singer Jeanie Lewis too with the high notes of an angel. My Ex hated her! 🤣
Thomas, I never knew of Eienstien's lack of hygienic habits. That probably explains his mad professor hair style.
It was his wife who did the hard Maths, but Einstein was the ideas man able to extend his genious thought considerations into Science. .
Pity he smelled.
Knowing Marilyn, she was probably just playing on for the fun of it.

Those quotes came to me from an old teacher colleague (Economics which is a soft Science at best).

Still, very interesting to know the beautiful blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe had a genius level IQ. 165! That's extremely high despite the silly blather from on line games.
It's Sad she died so young from an OD of sleeping tablets.Wiki.
She knew JFK. ... remember her stoned birthday song to JFK.

Candle In the Wind' – Elton John
The opening lines reference her given name, Norma Jean, and the song paints a sympathetic portrayal of the actress and her life. Bernie Taupin, who co-wrote the song with John, has said that the song is, above all else, about fame and tragedy.1 June 2022 image001 (2).jpg

Yes, I remember that famous song and the circumstances in which it was presented. I didn't know either that her IQ was that high but I consider the significance of it to be limited anyway. Nor did I identify any of the quotes as being made by her. It was the whole package, the method of elimination, and a wild guess that led me to think of her as a possible answer to your question.
Einstein's hygiene issue is generally not often referred to for obvious reasons. Similarly, personal details about Goethe, our national poet like Shakespeare is for England, are usually disregarded as they would be distracting. I guess that's the same in any country.

Hi Thomas, agreed the veracity of her estimated genius IQ is a bit flimsy. Still, she was not a dumb blonde.
I had no idea Einstein was such a slob. Yuk!

The quotes were sent to me from an old teacher colleague.

As used to be said, "Sleep tight and keep the bed bugs out!"

Seriously, I find keeping my bed sheets tight gives me a better night's sleep.

You see a boat filled with people. It has not sunk. But when you look back, you don’t see a single person on the boat. Why?

I welcome the day with a show of light, I stealthily came here in the night. I bathe the earthy stuff at dawn, But by noon, alas! I'm gone.

Because you're looking back thus not seeing the boat?

Mist, dew, fog, moisture in the air?
